It seems like the women is an allegory for your normal sane self and the other figure is depression, with it leaving you crippled and defeated in a mental institution.

This is my pasta. I wrote this years ago. I only just now found out this video exists, and I'm kind of embarrassed, as I could have improved certain elements. The PTSD angle is especially cringe inducing.

As someone with PTSD I had a long sigh and face palm when he said he was diagnosed with "Post traumatic stress syndrome"

I have a toddler and a cat crowded into my bed... 😂😐
one is kicking and happily shrieking because the cat slipped in through my closing door, the other is purring and clinging to me.
I've tried to push out the cat and tried to shovel baby into his crib for 2 hours, one sneaks past me while the other makes himself cozy on my pillow.
I gave up and separated the two so they can't touch, threw on this video and found something to comment on. It's now 16 minutes into the creepy pasta.
One is now starting to snore infront of me and the other is purring at my back. Like mother like son like cat... XD
But seriously... trade you beds, I can't feel most extremities, my hip and shoulder ache and my back is twisted but I'm afraid that if I move these two will be up again at 1:45 am

This story hits way too close to home for me. As someone who has struggled with extreme nightmares of being tortured and chased by all manner of demons, this was terrifying to hear. I also suffer from sleep paralysis, which was what the scene with him being wrapped in blankets made me think of. It's a feeling like suffocating and being unable to wake up. The sad part about this story is that it could be entirely true(not the spirits being real, but the person losing their mind.) The scariest part of all for me is that when I scream in my nightmares I don't wake up screaming, so there's no way my wife will know to wake me up.

Pretty damn good! I’m sure there are enough of us out there who have a more difficult time either getting to sleep, staying asleep, or simply are unable to sleep. We are the ones who know that it indeed can be missed, and I for one, would do my absolute best to stop any sleep “demon”, or any otherworldly, or entity that would stop me from sleeping. And if I lost, then I’d effectively be at a permanent sleep. Or as it’s called on Asgard, the “OdinSleep”. Not quite the Allfather sleep, but damn close.

I expected to see more discussion in the description... This is one of those creepy pasta stories that feel like a mere retelling of a mentally ill persons decline. The slide from normal and mundane into the almost indescribable horror. Though maybe that's just not as evident to someone who is not familiar with mental illness.
Cassey Harding I wrote this. Your pretty close. I was a bit unhinged at the time. This was sort of a creative outlet for me.
I honestly don't think it's a good short story, but I'm glad some people enjoyed it.
I can certainly empathise with writing while not entirely of sound mind. I find it helps somewhat.
We are often our own greatest critics, it's the writers that can't admit their failings that are terrible. I certainly enjoyed your story; so regardless of its 'quality', it has achieved something. Which is plenty to be proud of.
