Nikon Zf was the first Nikon I was ever interested in. Got it in October last year and still have it. Great camera! Especially for shooting with manual focus lenses or those smaller affordable Viltrox lenses which are a steal.
Yea, after doing this video, I never knew how advance the ZF is. I'm thinking about selling off the Z6ii after doing this video. I'm glad you are having fun with the ZF~!
I've owned the Z6, Z5, Z50, and the Zfc. I traded them in for the Z6II (and later for the Zf) and have been using it as my primary camera since it came out. I was satisfied with it, but not completely thrilled, as I had purchased the other cameras to improve focusing and low-light performance. Then I got the Zf, and it was the solution I had been looking for. Everything is better now - focusing and low-light performance are no longer an issue, and with the addition of a half case, the grip is just fine. I am a full-time professional and highly recommend the Zf. It is a much better camera. My Z6 II is now my backup, which I use occasionally for less demanding jobs to keep the battery charged. But for any challenging job, it is the Zf without question.
I did the highlight testing and many other testing on my instagram for my followers. People complain when videos are too long on youtube sadly. So in the final edits we removed several test and highlights were one of them. If I see more people thumbs up this comment, it will be in the future video.
I'm not sure why there isn't much support now for the Z6ii, now that the later models are out. I have two of them with 6 of their Z lenses. I shoot paid gigs and events, and sometimes in lowish light and I find the AFC works well enough. I barely miss any images for focus, even when taking over a thousand images at an event (they normally involve people dancing and moving quickly). The images are truly beautiful and I do daylight-balanced, HHS, TTL, fill-flash. The z6ii was a camera that Nikon got almost good enough, but for me it is close enough. The ZF is $3,500 per body, so for me to swap over there is 7K for two bodies (here in Australia). For the Z6iii, they are $4,5000 per body, so there is 9K for me to change over. These old models aren't worth much for resale, so it would cost me a motza to change over. Probably what I'm saying is I scabbed it with Fuji for ten years, so when I finally embraced my nikons two years ago it was like night and day. It's great to finally be with a great system.
Philip, I understand🫡. I used the heck out of my z6ii since it came out. It is a fun system and I really enjoyed using it. As long as the system works for your work, you are golden🫡
You are welcome. I been using both for quite a bit but after doing this test, its very interesting. I own both as well and I may.... maybe... have to let the Z6II go but thats my babyT_T. Had it since day one T_T.
@@furkanerkoc8973 Z6iii is projected to drop in price very soon. Theres some issue in that system which I rather show than tell. I would go for ZF for photo but if you want video / animal get the Z6iii
I had the Zf but returned it. Even with the small rough grip , using the 50mm z lens became uncomfortable when shooting at certain angles. Some of the photos I took in low light had really bad noise at the bottom left and right corners of the photos. There was an odd internal movement I noticed. For those who own a zf, hold the camera vertically up then turn vertically down. Do you notice as if something is moving back forth internally? Because I can notice it a lot with the zf I had. I prefer the ergonomics (z6ii) over AF accuracy (Zf)
The back and forth is the robust ibis unit. My Canon has this and many other brand as well. Only smaller ibis dont make much noise but its not as good. Its by desgin. So hopefully that clears things up. We checked the lowlight and saw Z6ii worse than the ZF. We as in the Live Audience saw it taking place with no jump cuts. Perhaps you didnt turn OFF a few settings which is one issue. Nikon leaves a few nagging option left on and so does Canon and other.
Zf IBIS doesn't lock when turned off (the lock is the click you hear when entering menus on other FX Nikon Z cameras). So that's the rattling you hear. Only issue so far for me is that the camera has to be on (with VR off) to safely clean the sensor, otherwise the IBIS sled moves around.
@@theCameraVille Z6iii would be no brainier if price difference wouldn't be 1000€... ZF for its price tag is much more attractive + I have manual lenses, aye tracking feature for manual lenses is the way to go...
Not much request on that due to the partial stacked sensor for Z6iii, so I decided to do other popular request that people want like the Nikon Z8 vs Canon R5ii. If more folks request a Z6III video, I will pick one up as I don't get anything free from any company. When doing my camera comparison, I literally have to spend my own money on it. So if its even worth it, it will all depend on the viewers like you to vote upon it. Share the video and tell folks to hit like on your comment because I need to know.
I keep hearing that from other users. Im a little dissapointed in the news. I always claim Nikon has the best dynamic range but gosh. Ill take a look when the time comes but thank you for the heads up.

One of the best comparisons I've seen on the Internet! Great work mate! 👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it!

That is an amazing ride. I think I will stop at ZF. Fits a lot of holes that I always wanted. Kind of my always go to these days.
come on man do highlight recovery also

Thanks for the screen test, cool review!
No prob! It was quite interesting to see the result.
Great vid. Been thinking about a new Nikon & have been lost with all the models.
Nice~! Cant go wrong with the ZF. Z6ii on the other hand is getting affordable.

Thank you for this! I know they are different classes of cameras but I’d love an image quality comparison between Nikon Z fc and Nikon Z f.
ZF is the best hands down. Zfc is D500 quality. Apsc vs FF.
@@theCameraVilleI know the specs. I would just love to see real world examples.
Thanks for doing this.
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it.
Li, wassup with you recording on wide-angle? 😂 I'm sure it's because of space constraints.
Great detailed review as usual!
Lol~! Yup!! Its a tight space. Got to hit it with that 16mm lol. T
Awesome. I have both, but good to know all these details.

I'm confused to buy Zf or Z6iii. For photo performance, which one do you advice me ?

Any time! Thank you for your time mate🫡🫡

Well, when z6iii come out, I can't decide.... Stay with z6 ii or go ZF ?
Z6III should be out now I believe. ZF isnt a bad choice. I might go ahead and sell mines off after these new findings.

@@AsDoomas You should wait as I was informed the Z6iii needs a firmware update. Some AF issue I was told. It would ruin my test if I did it today.
Nikon specd the zf very well esp given the price.
yup, ZF is now my most used camera. Z6ii was my child for a long time before ZF
Co to Najkon ?
That’s what your mom said to me last night🫂🫂 I love you.
Why compare the Z6ii when the Z6iii is the current model?

Hes testing the z6ii tho?
I love it
Appreciated~!
Do like that ZF
After we get our LX🫠🫠
@@theCameraVille 😂😂yeh man👍
Less yellow colour cast with the ZF
