I'm going to buy the DF64 and watched all the videos on it on UA-cam I could find and I have to say this is by far the most entertaining as well as the most informative!
You make a great point that I haven't heard before! That it may be better for some people to get the Niche AND Df64 than one ultra high end grinder. I have the Niche as well as a DF64 with SSP brew burrs. The Niche is much much nicer to use and is my favourite but wow those brew burrs offer a step up in clarity
I am craving more content from you! Definitely one of the most enjoyable coffee content creators imo. Well backed opinions, incredibly informative and pretty darn funny too.
Great video! This is definitely the most scientific and repeatable comparison I've seen on the DF64 and Niche. Thanks for dialing in to get the same flow rate, probably the best way to get a good comparison.
Great informative video with humour..I would be interested in how the taste changed after you install ssp burrs in DF 64 (if you still have it). I have the stock burrs and wonder if the upgrade is worth it in future.. kamsahamnida chingu (limited vocabulary from watching korean dramas). You can take the videos further with dramatic music. Infuse some drama in the video. For example df 64 is poor man working 3 jobs (as a receptionist, food delivery and cleaning offices). Niche is an executive working as Director (his father is a loyal driver of the chaebol - instant coffee conglomerate) in the company. Niche wants to take revenge with chaebol due to poor treatment of his father by the chaebol family. DF4 is actually long lost son of Chaebol. Ultimately Niche and DF 64 unite to send baddies (instant coffee executives) to jail.
If you only limited to 750 USD budget for your first grinder, who would you get? Now I own Comandante MK3 NB and I am thinking an electric grinder in the future.
It's a hard call. But it's up to your personal taste. What kinda coffee do you prefer? But if you have a Comandante, it does a quite good job as a conical grinder. It just takes 2 minutes to grind espresso range and a sore forearm though.. So flat grinder can be a good choice.
@@coffeeshin2788 Thank you for your answer. You have very good coffee content with good humor and jokes. Currently I do mostly alternative methods (Aeropress and V60), but in the future I plan to buy an espresso machine. I really enjoy anaerobic coffee. So I prefer light to medium roasted sweet and fruity coffee with little bit acidity.
Here's a similar take to the video. Get a DF64 and an 1ZPresso JX-Pro (that's for most folks without a hand grinder. You could just get the Redclix for Commandante). That would be right around $700 total. With the DF64 you get a very capable flat, and the ability to grind through larger doses easily for larger pour overs or even drip (the bellows probably hold 100g of beans). With the 1ZPresso, you get a very capable conical that's (fairly) portable and fast at around 40 sec for 18 g at espresso. That should cover you for quite a few coffee techniques, espresso styles, and even travel.
Personally, it's not really for the long extractions as it already contains more fines. But it can make good aftertaste with "normal".. such as 30 seconds-ish shots.

베리류의 향미와 산미를 좋아합니다.
레몬같은 찌르는 신맛은 안좋아하구요.
이런 저에게는 니체와 df 중 어떤 그라인더가 좋을까요 ㅎ
Will df64 be a good pair with decent espresso machine for long extraction espresso like londinium and slayer profiles
