How about hitting a shallow shot with backspin so it checks and stops?

Good idea Tom to bring the golf course conditions to the driving range. I haven't gone to the extremes as you explain one should, however, I do start with the short irons up to the long clubs. Also, I alternate distances and directions; draws and fades. Keep up the good work! You always have informative videos!!

Hi Tom. I hit a very nice and solid shot and contacs each time in driving range but always topping the ball on the golf course. Is it my fear divot and get stuck. I tried to hit deeper but occasionally stuck on the grass. Any good advice?

Good advice. I will apply it to work through my anxiety over a couple of holes on the course I play. I will imagine I'm teeing off at my worst hole and get myself calm.
What do you think of playing the course while at the range? Imagine you are going to play each hole on the course. Start with driver, then iron or wedge until you are on the green. Only one shot per club to simulate playing on course?

Thanks Mark. Correct. I made a video before about a game plan. You take a scorecard on the driving range and play the course there. If you know the couorse, you know the distances and hazards... It will make you a lot better.

Sir, I played terrible today after smashing it in the range all week. So tonight, I went to the range, really angry. I played the driver-5-7-9-P, one ball each. Huh, Slice(D), Hook (5), inconsistent (7), Nailed (9), Nailed (P). It appears, I was given a false sense of confidence on the range hitting 120 balls with 3 clubs, expecting to be Tiger on the course. Many thanks, i actually was going crazy trying to reverse engineer the day until now. Not its focus on training

Great video. Maybe you could have a video on how to do a Punch Shot out of the trees?

I'm the oppisite. Worse on the range and better on the course. I have a hard time aiming at both ranges I go to. I make sure to line up correctly and it feels like I'm aimed to the right. Then halfway through it feels like I'm aiming left. But I'm aimed at the same intermediate target the whole time😂 something is wrong with my brain or something lol

Too bad I didn’t learn this before snapping my 6, 9, and 4H during a round last fall. Oh well…

The main reason is actually the lie. Ball above feet, below feet, uphill, downhill etc - you can't replicate this at the driving range so if you're struggling to adjust for the lie - you need to practice on the course, not the range
