This is not the same Rio! Wow, the new owners have done such a great job of bringing that place back to life. Great restaurant review, I think Mrs. Explorer Vegas got the better dish, that lobster pot pie looked amazing! Keep up the great content you two!

Nice to see the Rio coming back from the dead... Last time I was in there, no tables, sticky carpet, all stores closed, etc, etc... Could not get out of there fast enough... The tavern looks good, but I will always miss the World Buffet... They have a tough act to follow... Prices on the menu looked reasonable... but I guess a lotta people will be walking across the street to the AYCE buffet... lol
Great review! Staying at Rio for a week in August. Will do dinner thier one of those nights. Then thiers Ping Pang Pong next door at the Gold Coast! And the list goes on . Off strip, gotten wayyyyy pricey . To many other great restaurants and way more average pricing. And love the NO parking fee at Rio . They are out of their minds on the strip . Sad .... anyhow thanx for the preview!!! ❤❤

You should try Big Als Oyster bar st rhe Orleans...and get their ciopinno! You can choose your spice level too..anything over 5 will be spicy... super delish & enough for 2 ppl. If the Orleans still has The Prime Rib Loft...go there..was delish..
Another recco is an off strip tapas restaurant east of the strip called Firefly... not sure if theyre still there ut rhey were delish & had a great deal on sangria & mojito pitchers during haply hour.
Firefly has been highly recommended for a while. A few years back they were shut down by the health district for multiple violations. They’ve since reopened, but we haven’t had a chance to go there yet.

That lobster pot pie looks worth it with the chunks of lobster in it. Very often there are just traces when you order it, but they give you a lot.
