- Visiting the all new Canteen Food Hall at the Rio hotel and casino in Las Vegas in 2024. This brand new food hall in Las Vegas took over the old legendary Rio buffet, so lets see how it compares to some of the best food halls, and restaurants in Las Vegas. There were 6 food stalls Tony Luke's, Attaboy Burger, Shogun Ramen, Nama Nama Sushi, Southland Burrito Company, and Tender Crush .

Do you prefer the Rio Buffet, or the Food Hall?

The food hall doesn't look exciting to me. I prefer neither. I prefer the old seafood buffet
I went to the Rio buffet in 2018, from what I can remember, it went through some changes before it closed. The one time I ate there, I was not impressed at all, being it in Las Vegas & should have been top tier if it's in a casino, but what I saw looked like your average Hometown Buffet with the color plates chipped edges, messy buffet, hardly anyone was there for dinner the day I was there, and something I have never seen before was you pay a different pricing for the seafood despite it being in the name, and a employee is in the buffet but to the right where all the seafood is and checking your wrist stamp under UV light each time you get more. They do that so to keep out people who didn't pay extra for lame ass tiny lobster. The service was bad. It was below quality of a Golden Corral & it was one of those situations where you know there's no point in getting dessert, it's just soft serve & cookies that's not even freshly made but hard store bought.
$37 for sushi plus $3 for the dripping sauce? Everybody wants a piece of the action. 😂

The World Buffet at Rio was our fav buffet. Sorry it's gone.
Don't drink much soda now but we preferred Mexican coke too. They use good old fashioned sugar in their recipe.

The rio food hall was awesome
I love the sushi combos but I think we covering up the delicacy of the fish too often. So much so that the fish could be any protein as you can’t really taste the fish once you started throwing too many additives to it

I like both. When I want quality I'd choose a good buffet. I used to go to Spice Market buffet at Aladdin. And Paris. Both closed. Been to Wynn and Bacchanal. Next i want to try Palms Wednesday or Thursday lobster. That's a steal and worth an Uber ride from the strip. I like Peruvian coke vs. Mexican coke.

I'm so over food halls, they suck, I don't care how pretty they look.
Zero value. Sushi was not fresh. Tenders basic. Smash burger looked good but again no value to pull people in. Competition across the street 65 bucks ayce lobster. Damn Rio.
