  • Explaining James Harden’s “put on the brakes”, rapid deceleration ability via biomechanics and sports science | Dr. Rajpal Brar, DPT breaks down James Harden’s - NBA and Houston Rockets superstar - ability to rapidly “put on the brakes” and decelerate to come to a stop which is a key part of what makes him one of the toughest covers in NBA history.

    Really nice content! Found your vid through reddit and im now a subscriber. Also just wondering isn't 4:11 a travel or am I seeing that wrong?

      Appreciate you taking the time to come over, watch, and sub! It's not a travel because you have to look at when exactly he actually grabs the ball. In the NBA, you're given a "gather step" which can look like an extra step but Harden has worked on the timing so well that he maximizes it. I almost thought about putting a disclaimer: Not a travel!

      Randelle Linner There’s no exact way but the main tenets are training neuromuscular control, eccentric strength, and movement mechanics

      do backwards lunges or any movement backwards using your glutes
