So sometimes Samoans get called Hawaiian, islanders, fobs and Polynesians? What does it all mean and is it true?

Being a Sydney sider Samoan I didn’t know people really call themselves Polynesian, growing up we were just Samoans etc. Maybe times have changed, I only remember people from NZ calling themselves ‘poly’.

It is getting more common now. I was also the same growing in Melbourne using Samoan over Poly. Very interesting times
