Our ancestors settled on Upolu after the eruption of Mt Matavanu. They say that Tuala and Salā were the ones that led this mass migration as our ancestral home Lealatele was affected. Other descendants of Lealatele/Saleaula settled in Salamumu hence why traditionally Le’auva’a and Salamumu aren’t counted as part of Upolu but still part of Savai’i.

Was it when the volcanoe erupted in savaii and they need to escape so on their canoes they came and landed in Upolu and how Leauva'a was born. I could be wrong.

Yes the village in Savaii is called Saleaula that still have the lava ruins visible today & the 2 villages in Upolu they ended up in were Leauva’a & Salamumu so if u hear any1 from those villages say they’re Upoluans TUI SAYS -YEA RIGHT🤣🤣🤣jox!lol

Yes, and they were without a place, a title. They can thank fasitoouta for giving them a name of status.
