Thanks for this video, I have this aluminium pan, and I was wondering if it won't stick in it.
Decided to try making masa for the first time and I used this recipe, and it came out absolutely perfect. Thank you!
You welcome. Am glad it works
I thought as much! My first batch is never as beautiful as the last batches. I was worried but thank goodness it’s a thing in the masa universe 😂😂😂😂
Can I add onion when blending
Please what and what did you add into the yeast mixture before putting it to rise? I didn’t really understand that part. And did you use hot water to mix the yeast? Thank you 🙏
Hello dear, I added only a tea spoon of sugar to the yeast. It helps it to activate faster. Also, always use warm water for the yeast. Not hot or cold, in between 🙏🏽 thanks for reaching our. Let me know if you have more questions.
Assalamualeikum...Good day sis...pls I bought a new tanda and I already washed it with soap and water and then my masa paste is sticking to it...please is there a way out for me???
Thanks for this video. Watching from Uk. But please about the yeast did you use warm water to mix it? And also please what was the white powder you added to the yeast?
Yes, warm but not hot. It was a bit of sugar. Thanks for watching.
Iam an igbo gal and love masa so much, have missed eating it for some years now. I am going to try this out. The soup please
Yet sounds great. For the soup check my cooking playlist
How do you serve this masa, what do you eat it with?
You can eat it with sugar, honey, Suya spicy or soup.
Thank you am going to do it as commercial
Wish you the very best of luck. 🙏🏽
Thank you very much. Thanks for promoting our culture despite living far away from home. Please where can we get the pot? I tried using a baking pan, the one we use for cup cakes but it did not come out well.
Awww 🥰 you welcome. Pls check Lolo’s kitchen on Instagram or here on UA-cam. Her icon is green and white chef picture. She sells in the US can also mail to you anywhere.
Well done well done. I have always wondered why some people add yoghurt to their masa batter. I will try this and give feedback. Thank you maam
You welcome Maam... yes yogurt helps to keep it moist even after a day or more. The trick is if you put it in the fridge, warm it in a ziplock it will become soft like newly fried.
Thanks so much for this online teachings! My qtn pls, I have seen others adding onions which actually gives it a nice aroma, but I notice it changes the colour.what do you advice.
Also can you pls display your recipe measurements!
For how long do you have to prove your yeast, and how long do you keep warm your batter after adding the yeast.thank you.
I really want a fluffy masa for my next try pls.
Thank you very much for your time to teach am happy I learnt, but please I need a list of the ingredients used
madam, you said warm masa in ziplock in d microwave won't the ziplock melt
No it won’t. Just for one minute
Thank you so much, is der a specific type of rice?
Recommended rice is the white rice or basmati.
What did you add to your yeast before covering it?
A little bit of sugar
Madam can I get masa frying pan?
Thank you for the recipe ma❤️ please can i use one recipe to make masa and sinasir? Like your sinasir recipe to make masa or your masa recipe to make both sinasir and masa
You welcome dear. I believe you can. Both masa and sinasir are very similar.
I always follow the same recipe n method but my masa don't come out well. The inside always seems uncooked whiles the outside is OK
I believe you are heating the pan too high. That’s why the outside is cooking but inside uncooked. Next time, lower the heat. And give it time to cook. Best of luck
So inviting. Thanks for your detailed demo. Pls. Can Acha(fonio) be used in place of rice incase of diabetics?
You welcome dear.
The truth is that I never used acca before to make masa. But I know it can be made with gero(millet), maize (masara). Please let me know if you ever tried it with acca and how it comes out for you.
I bought a new pan, how do i make it to get a non stick effect
Thanks so much Ma'am. But pls can I use milk in place of yoghurt or use d two of them at d same time. I saw a recipe with milk in it. I want to make commercial Masa
Thanks already
Hello dear, thank you for watching. I never tried milk in my recipe. If you want to try milk, do it in small quantity so if the result is not prefect you won’t have too much imperfect masa. What the yogurt does is, it makes it soft and fluffy, also the soreness help ferment the butter faster.
I will recommend you try with butter milk. It is the closes to yogurt. Best of luck for your business 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Very beautiful one there sis, so there's no need to add onion?
Onions is optional. Some people doesn’t like. If you do you can add some InshaAllah
Hello please I'm Gladys from Ghana please I want to learn more from you please how do I please?
Hi please, what makes masa dry and hard?
You need to add yogurt in your mixture. It helps with the dryness
@@ElsutraEssentials thank you very much
Why is my masa sticky and not turning into balls
Please for five cups of rice what is the quantity of baking powder and yeast to be used
Hi, you can measure 2 tablespoons of yeast. Half a teaspoon 🥄 of baking powder when you're about to fry.
Wat dose baking powder Nd yeast do to waina?
Wow! Elustra, this is d best video I have watched ,it was well detailed ,u virtually answered most of my questions, but wanna know what happens if yeast or baking powder is over or too much.
Thank you so much for the nice comment. When baking powder is too much the batter will be formy and might not yield good result. For the yieast, it is give it a yieast smell.
Waooo thanks for sharing this wonderful posting of Masa. You are the best. 🙏🏼🙏🏼👍
You are welcome. Thank you 🙏🏽
💃💃💃💃Masha Allah Bilki. The detailllllls we want. Thank you! thank you!! thank you!!!
You welcome dear. Am glad it came in handy for you. Will be happy if you try and let me know how it came out for you.
Wonderful massa Thank you for sharing
Hi there,
Where can we buy the pan to cook the masa in?
Hi, what’s your location?
Video is too long 😪😪😪
Awesome! Now I understand my challenges with the cast iron Masa tanda. Thank you so much 🙏
Can I use basmati rice ?. Thank you
My masa failed to be baked. What would I do?
You don’t bake masa you fry it.
Wow this is awesome thanks for sharing I am so glad I can now prepare masa for my children at home. Kudos to you ma'am
You welcome. Am glad you did 🙏🏽
Is the youghut optional pls
Yes. You can decide not to add yogurt but it makes the masa soft. If you don’t want to add it then add more baking powder.
Thank you maa I really leant but maa pls enlighten me about two different yeast u put, nd again if i want to do half mudu of rice so hw many cups am i suppose to cook
Thank you 😊 I’ll try this recipe soon insha Allah 💃🏽
InshaAllah 🙏🏽
Thanks for sharing Hajiya
How many cups of rice altogether?
How many spoons of yeast?
You are a wonderful teacher,
Keep it up love you.
God bless you always ❤
Lovely looking, welldone. How come you didn't use Onion?Any particular reason please?
Onion is used to help the butter to risen. Backbone the guest usually get so much exposure to air. So the onion helps with that. I didn’t use it because some people doesn’t like it and I figured you can still have a perfect masa without it. Sometimes I do add it to the blend. Check my other masa recipe 🙏🏽
Thank you for watching 🙏🏽
OK, thank you so much
Love it, thanks 🙏🏽
You welcome dear
Hi sister, thank you so much for this recipe, it definitely has cleared some things I've been confused about. Please if you can offer any advice I'll really appreciate it. My masa always turns out soggy/ not fluffy even when the mixture rises with the yeast I've heard some people use soda and a little bit of flour don't know if this helps.
can i use normal rice instead of white?
Thank you for sharing
You welcome 🙏🏽
Very nice video thank you, please how can one order some and how much are they?.
Hi. Thanks for this masterclass. Please what type of yoghurt did you use? Can I use the normal sweetened and fermented yoghurt?
You can use any type of plain yogurt. You can use sweet one but not flavorful like strawberries or something with color.
U didn't put kawa ko is not necessary ba
as salamu alaikum, please I have a question regarding the waina and sinasir recipe, is there much difference in using cooked rice and adding hot water to some part of the batter? thank you
Waalaikisalam. Masa has more taxture and thickness. Sinasir is very soft and fluffy.
How to use masa pan for the first time
Awesome video Elsutra. You mentioned non stick tanda. Pls I'm interested I'm in the US and the one I have is for small sizes.
Contact lolos kitchen for your tanda she is in us too
Lovely how many Masa did this make
Sister my Masa do gum in the pan and I can't easily flip it, what should I do?
Reduce the quantity of cooked rice you add to it. Also, make sure the batter is thick not very watery.
Nice. weldone! I will try it. Thank you.
Thankyou Elsutra. Well detailed, God bless you Dear.
Please what's your Instagram handle, do you sell the waina?
Hello dear, sorry just seeing this. Dm me on IG
This is definitely a master class!😋💯
😂😂 thanks maria 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I learnt a lot. Pls I do have some questions regarding some steps in the process. What quantity of water did you use while proofing the yeast? And also when you were about to fry the masa, how much oil did you put in each compartment of the tanda before introducing the batter? Thank you
You don’t need to measure the water. Just a little bit is ok. The oil also will depending on how much oil you like in your masa.
I want to make an income from masa,BT my main problem is proportions for large quantity.
You need to be making it in batches. It takes time to make masa 🙏🏽
Thank you so much Ma'am
I just learnt i should not wash my masa pot
No wonder my masa is always sticking
Thank you once again
Yes 😂😂😂 you are welcome 🙏🏽
I didn’t hear her well tho
Please the greeting is too long Go straight to the point
Ok Ma 🙏🏽
this is so beautiful. please can we use acha instead of rice
Thank you. I never tried with accha before.
Great tips!!! Can I use the rice for touwo shinkafa and I was also told to use potash, is this as a substitute for Baking powder/baking soda?
Yes you can use the rice that can make tuwo. Just make sure it is not fire boils rice. It will make the masa very hard after it cools down.
Thanks I have really found this video informative, and I would definitely do a stepby step trial of your video, I am however quite curious about the baking soda/powder bit of this question as no matter what I did before now my masa always soggy/not fluffy.
How can I get your baking/frying oval
I got mine from Nigeria. You can get a no. Stick. That’s what am using now
@@ElsutraEssentials I need one, but what I'm seeing on Amazon doesn't quite measure up.
Thanks so much for the recipe ur excellent teacher.
You welcome 🤗 and thank you 🙏🏽

Best Masa Video online!!
Awesome!
Thanks for taking your time to go through every bit of this!
My search wasn't in vain!
Thank you!
How long did you keep the mixture in the oven for?
Am glad you found the video helpful. You can keep it for 2hrs or till the yeast ferment the butter.
I just stumbled on your video and am about to try this Masa recipe....but how do I now use my Masa pot because it has been long I used it and I washed it with soap and soft sponge (I think 🙄)before keeping it though I didn't keep it as you did....since it's over 5 years I last used it what do I do to it before I use it so that it doesn't make the Masa stick when frying?
If I should just oil it and keep for how long should I do so before I can use it to fry Masa?🙏🙏
@@christianaade2434 well since it’s been very long and you didn’t wrap it right, I will recommend you wash it first. Then place it on your stove to heat it on low heat for some hours. Allow it to rest and do it again. May be 2-3 times. Then oil it. You can do the first batch of masa and see how it goes. Usually the first batch doesn’t comes out very nice then you can continue. Best of luck 🤞
I am going to try your recipe
Pls do ☺️
Where can I get the massa maker please?
Where are you located at? My friend sell them. She can mail to US and Canada
Pls, am Charity. I live in Canada here GTA .how can I locate you in Toronto, can I order for masa, and where can I get all the ingredients especially the pot to make masa. I will be waiting for your reply
Charity, please email me at billybash2015@gmail.com
Billy what is the use of yogurt in the recipe?
It helps soften the batter. If I don’t have yogurt I will not make masa. It makes so much difference. You does masa business right? Try adding yogurt pls 🙏🏽
Let me know how much difference you notice.
@@ElsutraEssentials can i use greek yoghurt
