I think this lovely young lady should have had at least one parent w/her, she was far too young to be travelling the world w/strangers. She must have missd her home in Scotland a great deal. If only the pple or persons responsible for her wellbeing had some compassion for the little girl & paid for a parent/s to travel w/her or at least a relative who was close to her & loved her. She needed that security & that kind of cmfrt & love. She was such a lovely person w/a gentle soul & spirit.
Yes it does appear she's a bit camera shy in the interview but definitely not when she's performing a song. As for the business side, record companies are only in it for the money and not the welfare of their artists, even children.
I had never heard of Lena, but read some of the story on Wikipedia. What a sad story. A girl and then woman who seemingly had so much going for her. Why on earth was she so depressed, and starving herself? Sounds like she deeply wanted to continue singing professionally (and she was indeed very good -- I watched "Going Nowhere" from '81), but if it played a part in the torment she experienced, it wasn't worth it.
One comment in the media about her being chubby.😔 I used to watch her on opportunity knocks as I was the same age at the time. Had her album......So sad for her.
