Incredible that a masterpiece like this is published in 2012. Fantastic people. Keep on making the world a better place.Thank you.
I am so glad to see the Watchowskis turned out to have more to bring to the table in terms of philosophical themes in film other than "The Matrix". Truly a grand film. It feels like a revolution in storytelling how the basic themes, emotion and dramaturgical structure of six seperate stories are enough to bring them together and make an amazing whole of a unit. It's almost as if all stories could be told in this way in the future, though I feel none will come close to this film in a long time.
14:30 - that hunger he is talking about is exactly how i feel! i am hungry. hungry for more philosophical and intellectual movies like this one.
First feeling after the movie ended, i think of Budhism which is Thailand's national religion. We all acknowledged about these connections bonding each pieces of past-present-future lifetime within our belief and culture since we were born. It's so interesting to see how non-Budhism communicated this tangible visual explaining the concept of philosophy comes alive. Great book, great movie. Thanks for uploading this interview. All of you guys actually affected our life. :)
Lana's got such passion, and I vibed really well with some of her philosophies and mannerisms. Love this chica.
@Lana & Andy: this INTERVIEW was a trigger for me: VERY inspiring: THank you so much!!!
💗
I adore you (Andy, Lana and Tom) for Cloud Atlas. Thank you for bringing forth this gem.
Cloud Atlas was at least one of the best movies I've ever seen. And Lana is such a huge inspiration for me :3 Great interview ^_^
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
I'm just in love with Lana's hair !
easily the best film of 2012.

@@FrancoisDressler Of a directors' trio
Love the Wachowskis and their films. From Matrix to Speed Racer to V for Vendetta to Cloud Atlas! Shame it didn't do well
"I'm excited to see what you guys aren't allowed to do next." HA! Love that! And totally agree, these are geniuses at work.
What a wonderful interview, thank you for this!
thank you for being the only person to say that this movie is the best
Think the interview is excellent and it certainly allows the trio to expound on the ideas which have been apparent, to me at least, in what makes for great cinema--in terms of something that is intellectually engaging as well as visual and emotional entertainment. Audiences may have forgotten the unusual structure of 1916's "Intolerance", 1941's "Citizen Kane", or 2007's "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" Tnx!
Lana quoted José Saramago!!
They are amazing. It's so frustrating that audiences didn't accept the film... Meanwhile schock like Transformers is pulling in around 100 million on opening weekend.. ~sigh~
"Best of the Decade" Definitely! Work of Genius!!
Thank you for sharing this!
its really an intelligent interview with some people extraordinaire...thanks
Yes superb interview and the way they handled the end atheist or more spiritual or whatever question was superb as well. Masterful. Beautiful. Spectacular. Just can't get this movie or the main theme of the sextet out of my head. Thank you badass digest for this one.
gr8 interview!..love the questions..good job! .i had the same questions. about they implemented it after adapting it from the book which I've read only half of..but the interview gives us a peek about their inner workings how they functioned and everything!..thats was wonderful!
Wow, I finally understand structuralism after watching this film:
Structuralism is a theoretical paradigm emphasizing that elements of human culture must be understood in terms of their relationship to a larger, overarching system or structure. It works to uncover the structures that underlie all the things that humans do, think, perceive, and feel. It is "the belief that phenomena of human life are not intelligible except through their interrelations."

Awesome interview!!! Also very awesome to see a fellow Speed Racer fan :D
Did you see the film?
really great interview! thanks!
Your artwork is incredible. Especially the Cloud Atlas triptych. A masterpiece like the movie.
you have the biggest eyes I ever saw :D
I feel like she was looking into my soul 👀 Awsome eyes!
A tip: watch series at KaldroStream. Been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Aydin Ira Definitely, been using KaldroStream for months myself :)
@Aydin Ira Definitely, I've been using kaldrostream for months myself =)
Cloud Atlas is by far one of the few best movies I have ever seen. Thank you so much for this masterpiece :-) !
Thanks for this!!!
Kept expecting his shirt to say "HENTAI"
PS) Great questions, Devin -- awesome interview!
You naturally expose the lower whites of your eyes, you absolute madman.
About 9:40 really good description. Like these guys!
Yea, it´s like putting the memory of reading the book on the screen, rather than the book itself.
This way they can also make sure that the jumps come more natural to the audience, since their brains work in a similar way.
From my experience the movie works best the second or third time you watch it. Because now the movie flows parallel to your memory of watching it earlier.
I will never bother you
I will never promise to
I will never follow you
I will never bother you
Never speak a word again
I will crawl away for good
I will move away from here
You wont be afraid of fear
No thought was put into this
Always knew we would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to feel
Pain, pain, pain
You know you're right
You know you're right
You know you're right
It's so warm and calm inside
I no longer have to hide
Lets talk about someone else
Steaming soup against her mouth
Nothing really bothers her
She just wants to love herself
I will move away from here
You wont be afraid of fear
No thought was put into this
I'd always knew it come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to feel
Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain
You know you're right (x15)
You know you're right
Pain
You know you're right
Pain
Debunked by snopes. There was a misleading article in 2004 strongly implying she had won. She had not. She didn't even show up.
From this interview it sounds like the film makers don't want to give away the point of this movie. However it looks like what they are trying to say is all our actions and the way we treat people are important.
oki, now im waiting for the Speed Racer interview :P
oh, yeahhhh this movie does exist!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Your eyes are so expressive. Cool
Watch it again
*These are Gog and Magog!*
Of course, it's really something.
One of the most criminally underrated cinematic masterpieces ever! We've just uploaded a full analysis of Cloud Atlas to our channel, breaking down the stories and themes, narrative structure & editing, visual motifs, music and use of cast (all which are used to achieve the film's vast thematic agenda). Hopefully we did the film justice! ua-cam.com/video/NXriWanYWg0/v-deo.html

GODDD i want to watch this
brb sobbing
Say what you want about Lana, but she seems more comfortable...you ever see those old matrix interviews.
Totally agreed to @avalotara that we are underfed and Nolan also my fav
So Faith Movement
So I Started Reading The Matrix Revelations
Those two will never let us know if it's the first time or last time.... Hold on lets think again it's this.
god her voice
Do you realize that she is actually he. Do some research about them.
I know about him. He had a nice, calm, natural voice when he was man. It became nothing like it now.
bbsale uk
She WAS a he, now she is a she. The feminine pronoun is the correct one.
Billy Knight I guess people who listens to them?
I didn't mind, I listened more to what she was saying than the sound of her voice. And she seems to be a very brilliant individual. So why judge on such a small fiber of a person's being.
"You guys" - stahhpp
you should ask the Wachawski about Sophia Stewart and how they "lifted" an entire intellectually property.
is this film as good as everyone says it is? I'd like to see it, but not shell out $15 to $20 for the DVD.
Damn, Andy-your sister is hawt, bro.
this is amazing! i loved this movie!! GO SEE IT! also, all you biggots out there need to grow up. lana isn't your problem so relax and live and let live.
I wonder if they stole cloud atlas too
sorry I just really love Cloud Atlas
snopes has an article on this...
are you sure? personally, i never heard the story before
We're gonna break an unbreakable evil code.
I always thought the Wachowskis were fucking weird. Now that one of them is a woman and has pink hair, it pretty much confirms it.
Lana is awesome. You can tell she's a nerd
Research it and you'll find i'ts been debunked, but of course there's people who are ALWAYS gonna believe the conspiracy version of something, nothing you can do about it.
Oh, great interview, loved it!
Here
When the shadow evil comes out kill it.
the man never blinks. he should really get them eyes checked
pause at 1:19. they look so uninterested lol
cute anime eyes
Wha... are you serious? I can't tell.
Maybeunknowdarkrainbowanswer
he doesn't give a shit?
They don't look very comfortable.
How sad.
Hete
4:44 watch the lady neck in the middle
God, I'd loooooove to watch another Matrix movie... If it's as good as any from the original trilogy (especially the first one, of course).
I didn't like Cloud Atlas very much...
No black feminist here whining about "cultural appropriation" because of Lana's hair? Wow, incredible.
Thats cause it is a guy....obvious
i hear cloud atlas is pretentious crap.
Hate
The movie sucks
Nah you lost.
nope you don't understand it
morphilou78 still suckks asss
Cloud atlas... garbled bunch of shit...borrrrring
