Thank goodness for your ability to find the unique things in life! When I was a child, my cousin, who worked on the railroad, brought my brothers a real railroad latern -- each of them -- but he didn't give one to me. Never forgot this crap. Never liked him after that either, to this day, and I'm 60 yrs old now. So, an extra thank you, Mr Jawtooth, for pointing out the female engineer!!! Girl power! Can't let you guys have all the fun. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I'd love for you to meet my former girlfriend. She'd have a few stories for you. As i write this she's been on duty about an hour while i've already worked today. Now she's not a rail nut like i am but, man she holds her own just like the rest of the ladies i work with.
I would first like to say thank you to all of the podcasters for recording train videos that way the public gets more educated on things it shouldn't have anything to do have and thank you for this young man for sending these videos I'm very very appreciative of it and you do a great job
Jawtooth I used to live in Reno NV in the 2990s. It was common to see 3-4 SD-40T-2s up front, a couple of mid train helpers and maybe some rear end help as well! I remember one train that had 10 GP-60s hauling a coal train! Times have changed! Best to you and family.
The single track girder bridge looks like it replaced a multi track truss bridge. I'd say that the current bridge is a 1970's era bridge by it's design. Good stuff!
That was OUTSTANDING!!! The CSX train was awesome; long train with domestic and international boxes as well as racks and frames!!! Great NS train too, Including open steel cars!! Start the video, son!!!

great video JT from one of your UK subscribers, love American freight trains, can't believe the length of them, wish more freight was on the railways in this country, have a 00 gauge model railway in my garage british style but have a few ho gauge Amercan models that run from time to time including the UP 'Big Boy' which has to be the favourite loco!
Another very cool spot that JT turned us onto. Grandson and I have been there twice in the last 2 months. very unique angle to watch from under the trestle. Last time we were there, we'd gotten A LOT of rain and the water was way up. Several fishermen(women) were pulling plenty of large mouth out of there. Thanks again for another cool local railfanning spot JT!
Working as a conductor for the Soo/CP was the funnest job I ever had, aside perhaps from running locos around in the service yard, or the trackmobile...shucks folks, it was all great fun no matter what the job! Even cleaning the biffy with the hotsy hose was fun. Yeah, there were some dull moments, but those never lasted very long. Great days and lots of fond memories, wouldn't trade them for anything.
My dad used to have stand on the platform to watch for hot journals before roller bearings. Rain, sleet, snow, fair weather. Also holding hoops with orders for the front and rear ends. Then retrieve the hoops wherever they tossed them after taking orders.
Love your train videos! And, I enjoy seeing your pets at the end of your videos! They’re so adorable! Keep up the great work with your videos. I believe, that you may live somewhere east of where my niece, and her husband lives. They live in a very nice newly built subdivision in between Amelia and Batavia, Ohio. 😃🚂🐶😸
Beautiful vedio lovley trains I like the modern locos . I live in New Zealand we have nothing like that I've always like American trains especially the Union Pacific DD40X . You were defently at the right place at the right time at the trestle
Another great video. Thanks for posting. You featured the CSX bridge at Bear Creek. That single-track span replaced the former bridge, which was destroyed by a derailment and massive fire on the 8th of July 1986. I lived in southern Montgomery County at the time, and recall the inferno with billowing clouds of toxic white phosphorous. Massive evacuations were necessary, a hazmat disaster of epic proportions. Responding fire departments had to retreat from the scene because of explosion risk and intense heat. A continual deluge of water finally extinguished the raging blaze after six days. The environmental damage was extensive, with soil contamination and poisonous runoff into the Great Miami River. Legal actions followed for many years after. The rusted patina of the Bear Creek trestle gives it the appearance of advanced age, even though it's a mere 35 years old. Looks like it was never painted in the first place. The rather frail looking single-track design would lead you to believe it was a hastily installed temporary replacement, where a more substantial double-track bridge once carried trains on the former B&O mainline. In the era of PSR, trains of massive length and tonnage now hammer that slim structure daily, without speed restriction, in a parade of heavy trains on the Toledo sub. Somehow, the present structure meets the minimum standard and continues to pass inspection. Prizewinning infrastructure. "Start the video, son!"
Females are now competitive as men, but sometimes we'll amazed to see them in a male's field work. Anyway, nice video clips and updates. Thank you for sharing
If I was to guess. I would say that it used to be a two or three track wooden trestle that was 2-3 foot lower and was washed out in a flood and was replaced with the steel at a higher elevation.
Wow,I think that second train had six loco's,super big I lost track ( no pun) after twenty cars!! Great shots of the trains, ten thumbs up jaw tooth thanks!! 💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🚝🚂🚂🚂🚂🚝

Hi Brian, that concrete bridge support, reminds me of a support i saw in Burlington, Wa. It was under a combination trestle/girder bridge, crossing the Skagit River. It's on the flood plain, and had sunk about 3' into the ground, so they built a steel frame over, and around it, to support the girders, and left the half sunk concrete pier in place. Wish I had taken a picture of it ! Just want to build it into my train layout. Oh Yeah, I asked a resident, how do you pronounce the word, Ska-git, or -jit, and he said, "Well, it depends on how many drinks you have had."
