No one is denying the front office has made mistakes. We’re trying to avoid making another one by not paying Butler a max contract when he’s about to be 35 yrs old and couldn’t stay healthy last season
The truth is if they don't pay Jimmy then other superstars may look at that and say we'll Miami doesnt pay their Stars. Even Lebron Dwade and Bosh had to take pay cuts to play together

Jimmy wanted Kyle Lowry and Miami paid wayyyy too much for that trash just to appease Jimmy. He doesn’t need to be Superman, he just needs to set a better example and the veteran star and not miss 20+ every single season. This is the same Jimmy butler story we’ve seen over and over again.

He is overrated. He had a moment or two..and the media overhyped him as mandated by the NBA…to force people to believe the league has more superstars than it really does. He has never been nearly as good as advertised.

NONSENSE. 1st, Jimmy is 34 and has NOT showed ANY signs of PHYSICAL decline. 2nd, EXTENDING Jimmy would TAKE him to 37, not 40+. Which MEANS at the EXPIRATION of his CONTRACT the HEAT would HAVE the MONEY to SIGN another SUPERSTAR to PAIR with BAM, AND to EXTEND Jimmy AGAIN on a VETERANS minimum IF he WANTED to STILL play.
Problem is Tobin, Heat already have a higher payroll than 90% of the League. They need to Shed salary, so they can actually be a Serious Player in free agency.
Yup tear it down, rebuild you can’t and should extend Jimmy. Gets what ever assets for him as you can. Ship Herro and Terry off as well.
Should leave us with 3-5 first round picks that’s more then good enough to get this franchise into contending especially with the young core we have.

Facts! This team is fish food without Jimmy's attitude. Bam is good but he doesn't have that killer mentality to lead this team. No one fears Bam. He's just a very skilled nice guy. We need a killer! I'm afraid when Jimmy leaves this team we will get slaughtered by Boston for the foreseeable future. This team has over achieved since Jimmy's been here. Heat front office has stood still and allowed Bucks and Celtics to win on their watch. Jimmy's championship window is closing fast, if not already closed. All him, Bam and Tyler, are focused on is money. That mindset doesn't help give the team flexibility to build around them. There is a limit a team can spend, it's called cap for a reason, and there isn't some unlimited supply of money.
Don't pay Jimmy and watch what happens when Miami tries to get another free agent. Someone is going to tell them that Miami doesn't pay their stars and doesn't put enough legit talent around you to win. If it wasn't for Dwade begging superstars to come to Miami I doubt the Heat would even be mentioned in trade rumors.
Last Rodeo with Butler and then move on to full youth movement. Maybe Miami can sign and trade him when he leaves via FA
If the Heat start out rough, he's definitely gone. I wouldve traded him already for a couple of decent role players, and a 1st Round pick for next draft.
Thats not wise. He is the sole reason why Miami stayed relevant in the post season since 2019. This is the ONLY year where they've fell short and that too is because of his injury. Who knows, we would have taken Boston to 7 games or have maybe even advanced to the 2nd round if he played.
I get the notion of trying to get rid of the old aged superstars as they take up cap space so teams can rebuild with young potential, but Jimmy provides a lot more than performance on the court even when he isn't playing.

I get so irritated hearing the complaints about moves the Heat made or didn’t make because you guys never factor in the fact that moves don’t always necessarily need to be made, and we can’t always make the moves we want to make. What move were we supposed to make this offseason? Why doesn’t Terry count? Why is he being devalued because he was hurt? We can only control what we can control. Trading for players under contracts with other organizations isn’t in our control alone. Doesn’t mean you sell the team for one player. Our moves are calculated and usually sound when made. And since no one can tell the future we all have to wait and see if they pan out. I think yall should relax and let Pat and Andy continue to do what they’ve been doing. The Jimmy situation will work itself out. Stay the course which is trusting in Pat
