Coming back to this video after 5 years, it's still just as painful to watch such a beautiful piece of electro-mechanical engineering get destroyed for no reason. The only thing that hurts more is that this video doesn't have it's dislikes visible anymore. I don't know exactly how many dislikes this video has, but let me just say, you deserve each and every one of them.
13K dislikes, I have an extension that shows dislikes.
Electro-mechanical?
@@Okurka. It's a combination of "Electronic" and "mechanical" which are the two types of mechansim inside any arcade cabinet. You have the electronics, the lights, the screen, the game board, so forth, but also the mechanical workings, in most cases, the coin mechanisms, in others such as a pinball machine, there'd be the flippers, launch spring, and more.
@@SampullMC You might want to look up what an electro-mechanical pinball machine is.

Sadly in the state of that arcade I would say 3-4k. There are not many that look that clean and new. And the facted that he keep making it seem like it was just old and a piece of junk insults the retro community
I know this isn't my arcade and you have the freedom to do whatever but,
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DESTROY THE WHOLE THING AND NOT OPEN SAFELY!!!!
@FrostyLolbit People like you only take pleasure in destroying. The video could actually be more interesting if an expert opened the arcade. This guy doesn't even know what is a deflection coil, a transformer, or even a switch contact.
Lol
That’s the point of the channel. They destroy stuff

@@samuellourenco1050 Some how I wished he would have touched the CRT without the gloves.
I forgot this channel existed. It's one thing to take apart something like a TV or a fidget cube, things that are still being made today. It's a travesty to tear apart a rare arcade game that hasn't been made in years and will never be made again.
MrPoisonBee they still make pacman machines
Yummiest King No, they don’t.

I don't understand destroying it at all. It's a historical item that shows the advancement of technology.
Historical? This is part Pacman and part Ms Pacman; it's not even an original one.
@@Okurka. it's an original Pac-Man arcade that was converted into a Mrs pac man. It's a very common thing for arcade cabinets to get conversion kits whenever a new game releases. It was still an important part of history.
@@cyclops8238 It was one of 300.000 cabinets made; it wasn't important at all.
@@Okurka. How many of those cabinets are still operational though? That was 42 years ago. Unfortunately arcade cabinets don't get treated as well as a home console normally would because of their constant use. They got tossed out, replaced or converted. If they were more common I wouldn't be that upset about it. But 300,000 is not a lot considering that was for worldwide sales and not just in the US. If the cabinet was broken and beyond repair then I honestly wouldn't really care but the fact that it was a perfectly functioning cabinet is what bothers me.
@@cyclops8238 300,000 is a lot, enough to get in the guinness world record book.

That was a CRT TV, they look like bombs because they use copper wires as electromagnets to prodject the picture using electrons. They are sometimes dangerous due to high voltage components that might shock you hard if you don't discharge the CRT!
I was waiting for the shock part. Sad to say I was disappointed. lol
Yes, please be careful around the CRT - I've known of them holding a dangerous charge even 10 years after being unplugged.
I wish they got shocked it's well deserved for what they did
@@stephenthompson8373 No, that doesn't happen. 10 years? Mind that the capacitance of a CRT is in the order of a few nF, at the most.
It's a monitor (a Wells Gardner G07 likely). Although they work the same way TV's regarding the CRT's it's not the same as a TV.

PAC-MAN WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
Since you obviously had the keys to open the machine, you didn't have to destroy it! Everything is designed to open up; you could have easily showed us inside the cabinet, controller and monitor area. You could even take the various parts out for safekeeping without any of this senseless destruction...
Oh, and be very careful with that monitor. Some of the older ones were made using toxic chemicals such as arsenic and cadmium that you don't want anywhere near you!

Well, there is another piece of history gone. I would have loved to save that. What other treasured things are you planning on ruining?
What you tore apart was a repurposed highly rare yellow Pacman cabinet and not a miss pacman, what was valuable was the wooden casing with the mythic "yellow man" artwork as this was a pirate Midway cabinet for a Pacman hack that led Midway into infamy. Dude, no. I do like your channel, but, you need to think about what you destroy. This was a rare piece of history. I agree with the others that said “why didn’t you just open the back?”
inside the picture tube is a phosphorus screen of red green and blue. behind the screen is a metal shadow mask that separates the RGB electron beams. the back is equipped with a deflection yoke that scans the beams vertically and horizontally. Keep in mind that a picture tube contains a high vacuum. which the air is completely evacuated. The voltage of these tubes is around 20,000 to 35,000 kilovolts
Considering that those machines represent the golden age of gaming and one of the most passionate desires of any gamer , I wouldn’t have actually minded if he got electrocuted with that much voltage , even doe the voltage is overkill at best
