Would it not just copy all 4 tracks at once, hence both sides at the same time are copied? Was kind of the whole point of those, or am I missing something?

Does it make the copy in stereo or mono? Also does it originally come with that timer connected to it or did you mod it to have that somehow?
Copies in stereo. No that is just a timer app I used on my portable nvidia shield controller.
