My landlady Joyce Gilsenan used to sing this song and play it on the piano when I was a Swedish summer boy in Eastbourne in the early '60s. I never forgot it but never heard it since. Thank you so much for bringing such fond memories to mind!! She was a remarkable lady, extremely cultured, lovely and sexy, and one day I shall endeavour to get in touch with her famous son. She was a greater singer than this but in those days widows had to rear children and make ends meet - no career .
Great the color here is timeless
This is from VOGUES OF 1938, starring Warner Baxter and a blonde Joan Bennett (aka Mrs. Walter Wanger - the film's producer!!). It's a fun movie.
