Love these comps! Anyone looking for a really, really versatile compressor should pick up one of these units. We liked the first one so much we bought a second one for our studio. Not always great on vocals in our studio but excellent on pretty much EVERYTHING ELSE!
The "sidechain" function I first saw (and experienced) on a wonderful unit called the Requisite PAL Plus Mk2. and it was called "Limiter Response". The PAL is more of an LA-2A alternative in its compressor section with this added feature and another called Limiter Feedback whose affect is hard to describe... like pressing harder while coloring with a crayon as you increase the "feedback" So IMO it blows the LA-2A away. But THIS Chandler has a wet-dry! Instant "parallel" compression!! Woohoo!!
Love this comp as ive tried the plug version, i'd like to ask if you already compared with distressor and, which of the two would be better for mixing, drums , vocals? Thank you
@@chandlerlimited apologies was not aware you were the manufacturer! In that case, are you guys able to customise me a personal one 😉 Indeed it destroys ,sounds rich or dirt harmonics, fell in love with sound and the yellow knobs! I usually run it in paralell and every thing thickens up!! Cheers!
The Germaniums aren't part of the Abbey Road Studios line, they are their own thing. However, out of respect for our intellectual propriety and commitments to our partners, we don't publish such information.
Chandler Limited is one of the greatest sounding equipment on Earth. Wade rocks!
Wow love the limiter sound exactly right

We manufacture the Germanium Compressor, it slays on drums and is great vocals or mix bus.
