Those boats were never suitable for beaming, beaming was designed by a madman..wires and heavy stuff all over your head and wires across the deck, bloody nightmare, also the rails are so low its easy to go over the side on these boats.
I honestly don't think that's true at all. They are designed for beam trawling and most stable while doing so. They're also capable of steaming and trawling in very heavy weather. Think about how many hours these vessels log at sea successfully. The rail is low I'll agree with that.
Watched this many years ago with dad who was a fisherman on the SW coast new roger well

worked around all these crews...and im still quite sane...a bonus...lol
and sadly the little tiger is no more. done a few trips on her, but now she's gone for scrap. R.I.P Roger and the W.S.S
