I had a '72 CB 450. My second bike. Seemed like a big bike after spending my first four years of motorcycling with a '71 SL 125. Rode it for two years while I was in College and a guy talked me out of it. I bought a brand new '77 Yamaha XS 650 in '78. Glad I grew up when I did. Those were special days, for sure.
Have you still got it ? The 1973 model ? You are the same age as me, I had a SL 350 when I was 18. Isn't it strange after so many years and so many bikes we want to go back to what we had years ago ! I too want my SL 350 back. They were damn good bikes and so good looking, both the CB and SL models.
@@SebSar-ef4zj Yes I still have it. I need to clean the carbs it's been sitting a while. Same time I had the cb450 my best friend alphas a CL350. His had a gold color tank if I remember right. Plus someone had extended the front forks some. Wow! Yeah it all brings back memories and I guess that's why we want another one like it. It's part of our youth. Those very special days in our teens. Nice hearing from you.
@@Kiskassklan I hear ya bro. They were truly amazing years , and motorcycles were the only things other than girls that would excite me hahahah. Yeah fuel in the carbs long term can play havoc , as a rule at the end of a ride, just before I am home I shut the fuel tap and let the engine run the carb dry and I park my Harley . One of the craziest things I ever did in 1972 , on my SL 350 I crossed mountain ranges full of rocks and loose gravel to reach very close to the Caspian sea. How I made it without getting lost or injured in the middle of total nowhere is beyond me ! I was 18 and fearless I guess ! All the best to ya...
@@Kiskassklan We'll never change. hahahah... Good thing is that we are still here , there is nothing wrong with staying within our limits and abilities on bikes and cars ! Maybe that's why are we are still here !
Hello Sir, I have just bought a 1969 CB450 that needs restoring. I need a little help because I am not sure what the black circular thing is on the top yoke at 2:12. Someone has loosened it in the past. The engine also won't turn over on the kick starter. I am hoping it has just 'frozen' up due to being sat for 20 years.
The day I bought my 69 450 (in 1972 or 3) the guy selling also had a Suzuki 3-cylinder, 2-stroke (500 or 750 called a whale I think) for sale. My buddy who I took along because I didn't know anything about motorcycles said; "with the 450 'you might kill yourself', but with the 750 'you will kill yourself'". He was right on the 450 I only broke my femur and was out of the hospital after only 7 months. But it was fun while I had it, tooling all around LA, SF Valley, PV and through Topanga and the other canyons.
Bought one of these new. Only bad Honda product I ever owned. Had a bad Shift Drum causing it to jump out of gear. Also, a real dog. My Yamaha RD 350 would destroy this bike. Was glad to get rid of it.
What a beauty! I had a 72 in 1974. I found an 85 cb450sc a few weeks ago and fell in love again. Great bikes.

If you were young and living in Southern California in 1969, this was the perfect bike for driving through the canyons or off to the beach.
Good video. Had the same bike in blue when I was 18...1972. Love them! I found a 1973 and bought it. Really good condition.

I inherited a 74’ CB450.
Never ride it.
But now w/gas prices?
It’ll do some errands...
Very very good!!
nice motorcycle compliments. What written on the plate k1 or k2?
Wear any Levi’s jeans in particular or a black leather biker greaser type jacket??
My first bike was the same colour but was the K6 with front disc brake. They were know as the work horse.I bought it new about 72I guess.

Did this motorcycle sell ??
Yes, it sold on eBay a few months ago. Thanks for your interest.
YEP! that's a Honda, new battery and oil change...away you go!
I had the same bike
Just like mine but mine was to scrambler.
Frankincense and myrrh - NOT ME! said the inflatable baby Jesus. And the (Three) Kings brought him a CB450.

Excelente máquina, hermosa, saludos y felicidades.
Nice bike, but the front mudguard is not original.
What makes you say that? This bike was sold on eBay, but just curious what led you to make that observation.
Test ride on 48 year old tires? I wouldn't risk my life on any tires made before 2011.
Lucky dog!
