Thanks, Jake! Great times at the Rochester OPC and playing trumpet. There should be more videos here soon, otherwise check out my Substack: joelcarini.substack.com!

Great video, and solid consideration points. I was about to go to WTS last year. I'm somehow glad I didn't, especially on the $$$ side. Instead I looked around for syllabi of several classes and bought the books, plus I watch full-course lectures from other seminaries that surprisingly are posted on youtube. In the end now I'm probably reading more than what I would have been assigned there.
what syllabi did you find and why did you pick that one? I am currently putting together my own personal study and this will might help me out greatly. Thank you and may God Bless you brother!
Hi Joel - this is Paul (from seminary!) and I was happy to stumble upon this video today. I agree with so much of what you said here, and it brings me back to some of our conversations in those days. I spent a few years in church ministry after graduation and then decided to leave it amid the political chaos that surrounded the pandemic. I got a degree in clinical counseling and find life to be much better on this path. I think we need more voices expressing the realities of Seminary and professional ministry, and I really appreciate what you've shared here.
Hey Paul! What a story; that fits with the pattern I’ve heard from others. Would love to talk and catch up if you have a chance. Maybe try me through Substack
thanks for this thoughtful video and all the past trumpet lessons

Excellent. Couldn't agree more. Right on!
Makes Me think of Vern Poythress and his expansive field work in other topics!! Nice insight brother God blesa
Yes, Dr. Poythress could definitely be an example! He was my professor, and yet my seminary didn’t emphasize his work on other fields. I wish they had
Would you share what seminary you went to?
