I know I'm being a buzzkill, but I hate that the PS1 modpack just HAS to include not only Herobrine but also one of those annoying "Dweller" type "spooky" mods, which naturally has the "Loud screaming = scary" design philosophy, because low-poly PS1 indie horror is (or was) a current trend.
I have the 3DS version. From what I remember, it was weirdly surreal. Its jankiness and low draw distance made the game feel like an incomplete, tiny world in the palms of your hands, and for that it has my appreciation.
There's a programmer who goes by FlockOfMeese who is making a genuinely impressive Minecraft clone on Dreamcast. When I see it, I wonder what if Minecraft released on just one console, was never updated, and became forgotten.
the 3ds version doesnt actually lag like that every time you mine (at least on the latest version), really shouldve updated it to give it the best chance regardless its still awful though lol

So the PSX modpack has some horror mods. And those include: - Infernø's Herobrine Mod - True Herobrine - Sanity: Descent Into Madness (Basically Don't Starve's sanity mechanic) - MCSX Nightmares (Random spooky stuff happens to player) - The Midnight Lurker (A Dweller/Man From The Fog hybrid that adds a monster that stalks, attacks, only spawns at night or dark caves.) But the modpack also has from what I've seen two jumpscares. We've already saw one which was the loud static that basically announces the mods have activated. And a second one which is a screamer of Herobrine.
the ps vita port was surprisingly solid, the draw distance was really low but otherwise it was better than the ps3 port cause it supported slightly larger map sizes if memory serves
interesting fact, the switch came out MONTHS before the 3DS version of minecraft got released and the minecraft switch edition (legacy console, before bedrock crossplay version) also came out before the 3ds version did
In the files of the “haunted” ps1 Minecraft there’s a folder which contains a bunch of worlds that you can move to your saves folder to play. They’re all the same map but with slight alterations that tell a story.
Most of the issues had with 3DS are from it being played on an Emulator. Citra/Lime3DS never even "supported" the game. And marked it as "unknown". The audio is because HLE and FMOD don't like eachother.
Ngl a while back I made a "port" moreso a demake, of Minecraft in PICO-8 and I was in the verge of panicking after seeing this video in my feed, I was honestly thinking Vinny was gonna see my game, in "Minecraft's weird and bad ports" of all places. I was both happy and "oh damn he's gonna roast me". Didn't get featured though :)
The render distance is trash due to the limitations of the platform. It can barely run at 30fps with a 13x13 BLOCK grid. And the map dimensions is 64x64x64.

There's a full 3D Minecraft for the GBA but it's limited in how much you can build before the framerate goes real low. A UA-camr made it as a programming project and a lot of people liked it so he kept updating it!
That’s crazy, I’m pretty positive I actually had to play that Minecraft coding game back in the day in grade school. I think we had an option between a Minecraft themed one and something else.
@@inertia_dagger Actually, I'm wrong, you can technically run it on an original Pentium without 3D acceleration if you use the DOS version, but it would be unplayably slow. It runs at about 10-15fps on my 1GHz Pentium III, so it'd probably be less than 1 frame per second on even the fastest Pentium MMX, let alone original Pentium. Also the DOS version completely lacks textures and has horrendous rendering errors. You can still run the game on a Pentium 1, you just need a 3D accelerator. With a decent, non-integrated graphics chip, you'd probably get about 15-20fps - although I'm just guessing based on my experience of 60-85fps with a 500MHz Pentium III that was 100% CPU bottlenecked since I was using a Geforce FX 5600 from 2003.

It's interesting, but I don't think Vinny would get most of the references from the events, scares, entities, etc outside of the obvious Herobrine. A few years ago the reveal of Steve being in smash got me to play Minecraft 3ds for a good decent amount of time on it. This was also way before I got a PC so this is my own way of playing minecraft.

I really hope that Vinny tries out more of the PS1 Minecraft maybe 1 or 2 more streams/pre records The scares in that one are very subtle and take a long while to activate not really suited for Sunday but more of a random stream during the week. Also there's white eyes and random entities along with Herobrine. It references a ton of Minecraft ARGs and creepypasta in a similar way that the Gmod construct beta map references Gmod args and creepypasta and urban legends.
Spending hours for random small scares and references most folks either don't know or don't particularly care about(all while chat is probably 50/50 lying) doesn't seem suited to any day of the week tbh. I think it's cool, but "too many games" etc etc
The modpack is a lot more effective when you are just playing the game without the goal of getting to see spooks. When I played it I went into it expecting it to just be a cool demake and had no idea there was even spooky stuff in it, so it caught me way off guard after just playing it for fun.
It happens in every version, it depends on how fast your hardware (or wifi, in the case of online play) can load the chunks. Java is really bad with it though

He missed some major overhauls and mechanics and collectible fluff like armor trims and archaeology. plus all these new 'drop' updates have been pleasantly decent like a new pale biome, some creaky fellas, new animal variants and more flowers and now leaves in the overworld. emulation is just code digitally recreating/estimating what circuit boards do, so theoretically you can emulate any electronic device

I kinda miss vinecraft. Vinny hasnt played since like 1.17 right? He missed some major overhauls and mechanics and collectible fluff like armor trims and archaeology. plus all these new 'drop' updates have been pleasantly decent like a new pale biome, some creaky fellas, new animal variants and more flowers and now leaves in the overworld. I hope one day he goes back to comfy block game.
