Hello from a UK Train Driver (suburban commuter multipul units) Just wandering through youtube looking at American railroad video's and found this one, i have had to comment to let you know how immpressed i am with your production. The camera work is good, the commentary is knowledgable and informative but not intrusive or 'over the top', overall a joy to watch. I wish all youtube rail video's were made to this standard. thankyou very much for your efforts.
I don’t know why I enjoy watching rail fan videos. I never worked for the railroad. I’ve lived next to the BNSF in Chicago most of my life. And had an aunt that work for Pullman 40+ years. By far your production is the best I’ve seen. And it’s nice to know the area you film in. Thanks for your excellent production.
Another great video Danny. I was wondering when my Distant Signal video fix was going to come in. I was getting concerned, LOL. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Hello from Jax. This video may be 6 years old as I comment, but your videos never get old. The reason your spot at the NS crossing on Old Kings Road is called Birdville is because the streets in the neighborhood just north of the Birdville Food Store are named after Birds. Not a good neighborhood though. Please be careful around there.
Wow nice catch of that Western Pacific. Send it to Virginia please. Im glad they took the intermodals off of the Tropicana Juice Train. I love seeing those old Reefer Cars all by themselves.
Another marvelous video Danny. Which reminds me, you might start seeing power on occasion from BNSF near Tampa. A friend of mine who works at CSX near Jacksonville says 'If we start getting Bakken Shale oil trains down here like we do elsewhere on the CSX, BNSF power might become a normal sight down here and as far south as Tampa, if not Miami.'
I really like your videos. You give solid information in a very pleasant and instructive manner. Wish I could go back in time and grab some steam videos. Both sets of grandparents were in Eastern Kentucky right at the Tug River with then Norfork and Western still using lots of steam pulling mostly coal trains. N&W in house built steam engines averaged more working miles and hours between key servicing than almost every other locomotive brand. From late October thru mid March with the leaves down we had crystal clear views. Since my friend's dad was the Williamson, WV yard master most trains gave us a pull on those sweet steam whistles and a friendly wave. If you can find Sprigg, WV just east of Williamson that's the farm across the river where I spent all my free time. We could hear westbound coming thru the tunnels obvious on any Google map.
GREAT STUFF, Danny! Love the variety of locations ( You hit a ton of my old spots) and trainage too. Thanks so much for this one. It was good to see my old rail fan buddy ,Travis again too. Going back to look at this one again. See ya!
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. MUCH APPRECIATED FOR THIS AND YOUR TIME. THANK YOU GREAT VIDEO AND YOUR INFORMATION AND COMMENTS VERY INTERESTING AS WELL THANK YOU AGAIN JIM KAMMERER OF PHILADELPHIA PA. 👍👍👍👍
Great shot of the Western Pacific. I used to ride the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to one of it's yards in Oakland, CA. Just before Union Pacific took over. Great shot. 😁
Quite a bit of variety Danny! You wouldn't think so but Jacksonville has many neat spots to catch CSX/NS/FEC action. All that Nahunta Sub traffic makes me eager to get to Folkston in April. Great job on the video and see you at Railwatch!
That lead NS is an ES44DC and the trailing engines are all D9-44CWs :-) I moved to Atlanta last year and I live along the NS Piedmont/Greenville District. We have many of those autoracks/containers
Yes...this presentation is approaching 6 years old, but I have been moving through your archive. I must say that I was unexplainably "tickled pink" watching the Amtrak literally scream past the intermodal train....literally brought out the little boy in me! I just love that gentle swooshing sound those lightweight Pullman's make. A question though...any idea what Amtrak is hauling in those Amtrak freight cars to the rear of the Pullmans?
Awesome videos Danny! Love the narration too! I play a train simulator that models the A-line from Race Pond to Taft. It's really neat seeing the actual trains that we run on that route. Keep up the good work!
That Amtrak Autotrain has gotta be the longest passenger train I've ever seen, at least when it comes to North America. I could be wrong on my assumption, but it must be a popular line. Not even close to VIA Rail's "The Ocean", from Montreal to Halifax, NS.
+The NovaBUS Fan Popular enough that even with the maximum number of cars that they can handle, they sell out. The current power demands by the A/C, lighting, and diners pretty much limits the coaches, sleepers, diners, and lounge car section to 20 cars. A DPU setup might take care of the HEP problem but none of Amtrak's locos are setup for it. The auto racks are limited in only the power up front. At one time the limiting factor was siding length but CSX has pretty much solved that problem as they continue to expand their own train lengths.
a new subscriber...enjoy your narratives. do you have a broadcasting background? certainly have the voice and delivery..nice and smoooooth. Dave Kinsey
Well it's good to see my neck of the woods videoed. I live about 3 miles from Dinsmore and at nite and early morning I can hear the horns as they run north/south. Fantastic footage.
winglessviper Hey thanks! I love Jax and especially Dinsmore. When I first began railfanning seriously in the early 90's, I played hooky from work one day and made a trip to Callahan. On my way back I stumbled on Trout River Rd at Dinsmore and have loved it ever since.
Thanks for this video especially! As an old Mandarin boy, this brought back memories. Alas, I now live in Marietta, GA, and do visit Elizabeth (CSX & GNRR) and Austell (NS). Retired last year and getting back into rail fanning. Love your videos - what do you use for the ground video? If you ever come back up to the Metro Atlanta area, I'd love to meet up with you!
Rail Gamer Productions You can tell it's not. First of all, it doesn't have the oversized radiator. Also, there isn't the large hump right before the radiator either.
trainguy Ramp is a throwback term from the days when railroads would load trailers on flatcars by driving them up ramps. I think Duval is Jacksonville is old enough that they did that there when it first opened. Now, of course they use tractor cranes to lift the trailer and containers onto the flats.
I'm not sure exactly what CSX calls them but the SD 40 - 3 with the rebuilt SpongeBob square cab I don't like that cab or that knows I was watching another railfan video and he said that about them but I lost it is so hilarious they definitely are weird SpongeBob square cap Danny you are awesome informative railfan video producer I love your videos I'm on the other side of the country and Union Pacific territory but you've taught me a lot of stuff that other railfan videos are vague about and you're so enthusiastic and passionate about this Hobby you're very fun and enjoyable to watch I wish you all the greatest luck in your endeavors peace out man have a great day PS in 2019 the Union Pacific Big Boy the world's largest steam locomotive will be going from Omaha Nebraska to Ogden Utah I think you should railfan and that if you end up in Ogden I will meet you there cuz I live in Salt Lake I'm hoping to get a good camera by then I can't wait to see the big boy that will be amazing peace out have a great day

As a Brit with not much idea of US railroads I appreciate the commentaries and explanations.
Hope you enjoy!

Great video Danny! You sure did catch a lot of foreign power!
I did catch a lot of foreign power, but wasn't after any. It was an interesting weekend, though.
Really nice job on the filming and narration. Enjoy watching your uploads!
I like your work. And it never ages
Another great video Danny. I was wondering when my Distant Signal video fix was going to come in. I was getting concerned, LOL. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Ha!Thanks very much, David. I'm starting to work on a few more, too.DH
9:30 is a godly horn duel. K5L vs K5LLA. Living for it.
Im a kid again. Great work!!
Totally cool those green passenger car doorway lights. Just loks right!

Another great video Danny. The information you provide is classic! Keep up the awesome work, and thanks for sharing!
Excellent video Danny. Jax is an excellent hunting ground for good rail shots. Thanks for your excellent work.
Pool is cool. Glad you got the 1983, Danny. I've climbed all over that unit. Great video as always.
Yeah, that 1983 is one of the best paint jobs I've seen in all this Heritage hoopla.
Thanks!
Imho your best video. Loved seeing trains pass while both are moving
Just another awesome video! Thanks for sharing it with us, Danny.
Love the ns engine. My fav of the engines . My grandson calls them flying horse. I like the horse logo too.
You always turn my crap weeks into good ones. Great usual effort and those horns are more soothing than the finest coffee!
The engineer on K902 sounds like he "ain't from around here"... lol! Big fan of your vids, Danny. Keep up the great work!
5:20 Really cool to get two trains at once, the slow moving freight and the high speed Silver Star.
Great to hear from you again,Danny! I always enjoy your videos!
Thanks very much.

I caught BNSF 9014 here in Hamlet. Nice to see someone else caught it as well.
Danny's voice reminds me of the narrator from the "Tracks Ahead" show that was on PBS up here in Wisconsin.
Outstanding vid!!
Wow Dan great shots+ lots of action, liked your catch of UP heritage WP loco amazing, thanks so much!

Nice one Danny. Too bad the rain ruined your trip to Folkston. I'm going to get up there one day (from Ft.Ldle) & wanted a preview. Thanks-a-lot!

Couldn't help but notice that (as always) grade crossing signals in the "boonies" double as gun targets!
Another awesome video. I just loved it. 👍👍👍❤️

Great video Danny, love the action. Nice to know you aren't the only one who has 10 seconds to spare when a train is coming lol.
Just another AWESOME video Danny!!!
Great job Danny, as always excellent narrating.
Love your videos I’m going to be in your area this spring getting lots of ideals. Thanks again. Mike from Cincinnati
Mike Pfeiffenberger Great Mike! We'll be glad to have you.DH

Wow! Great train chasing!
Your videos are so enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Nathan!
Awesome video, Danny. Plenty of action and nice foreign power I see.
7:25 looks like some jerks need to buy paper targets instead
Great Video. Enjoyed watching very much. Thanks!
Your videos are very interesting. plus your comments are a BIG plus to your pictures
Wish I could see some more of yours (and hear)
Mi
THANKS! Just go to my UA-cam page, DistantSignal
I never knew Florida was such a railfan hotspot. It is rarely covered in the media.
Awesome catch with the UP 1983 Danny:)
Yes, that was lucky.
Used to love running those 600 series with 6000 HP. They would pull a mountain…
6:01 Hey there is UP 1983 I catched that Heritage Unit at Kirkwood Missouri on a UP Intermodal train as a DPU
Thanks Danny, great as ever !!!
Thank you so much for the great video. It's this type of video that makes me happy. At 11:48 those GE AC4400cw's
Those are my fav!
At least once a month I see CSXT 9039 working train Y123, local Savannah traffic. I think they keep 9039 at one of the Savannah yards now
Very nice video love all the foreign power and has any one ever said that you sound like a narrator from a movie
10:00 Yes! Alllllways be aware of the ACe! LOL.
Great as always. Nice safety tip as well.
Awesome videos Danny! Love the narration too! I play a train simulator that models the A-line from Race Pond to Taft. It's really neat seeing the actual trains that we run on that route. Keep up the good work!

Fine video as usual, very nice work!
Awesome best as always!
Hi Danny great video's of the American steel roads, just wondering what radio band and frequency do they use in the states, cheers Terry

***** It's usually 16 passenger cars and 20-30 auto carriers.

Yes. I finally saw it during my vacation to Florida at Christmas last year, departing its Sanford terminal. Very cool.

Great video as always. Enjoyed!
We always joke about the dispatcher at 16:01 while railfanning because he always says “Got it clear!”
hey! Q453 had the #7812 CW40-8 that used to be the Spirit of America!
I swear PO53S at Dinsmore was the longest Amtrak I've ever seen.
Awesome video!!!!
Thanks Tommy!
That was FUN! THANKS!
Great video as always.
Thanks for posting and talking through the videos I wish you could do one for SP
thanks
Dave in Oregon

Very Nice videos Danny awesome.
Great catches, Danny!
Its awesome all this action
Fred Pohl Yeah, that was a great weekend.
Nice catch with one of the new ET-44AHs at the end on the Juice train.
+Rail Gamer Productions There was not an ET44AH anywhere in the video. They were not even in existance when the video was posted.
+Milepost 282 Productions That is totally an ET-44AH.
Rail Gamer Productions You can tell it's not. First of all, it doesn't have the oversized radiator. Also, there isn't the large hump right before the radiator either.
Oh. Okay. Thought it did.
Rail Gamer Productions Cool. Nice to meet you, btw
If you want to see a lot of trains in one day go to Kathleen road there is a train every hour on a busy day most of the trains are intermodal trains.
“Lochloosa’s on my mind” 🎵🎶. JJ grey
Not bad, Danny. See you at Railwatch.
theres a trestle like the one in this video in tallahassee, but its abandoned, it was on a industrial lead to a papermill.
ParadoxAQW That was the lead to the old Elberta Crate and Box Plant.
Oh, I thought it was a paper mill :D But it's still there , they only store MOW vehicles on that track now.
danny, what does the word ramp mean in jax ramp and i think i also heard duval ramp? thanks again for the info. great videos. i love them.
trainguy Ramp is a throwback term from the days when railroads would load trailers on flatcars by driving them up ramps. they should bring back some of old schemes in sp conrail and Chessie System since i know you dont seem them anymore
