Thank you both for being voices for those of us that have been silenced by our own people. I grew up in a small town in Northeast Texas. I have never identified with the common black mentality. Up until 2016, I didn’t know that there were other black conservatives. After a lot of research, I found a whole new family of blacks that think the way I have for a long time. Thank you both for speaking up for us. The time of the Democrats hold on our community is running out.
It is so exciting to see this awakening happening! Even for those who don’t necessarily agree with conservatives, to see people standing up to the nonsense within politics right now is amazing. We need reasonable democrats who are willing to challenge the narrative and have real conversations with those who have different opinions. We need conservatives like Candace and Brandon who are brave like they’ve been to speak out and let other young people, especially those within the minority communities know that they’re not alone. It breaks my heart to see the things people say to people like these two who refuse to stay silent, but the country is changing because of voices like theirs and more and more people are “coming out” as conservatives, libertarians, or liberals who recognize the damage these radical leftists have done to what used to be liberal values. It gives me so much hope for our future when I listen to conversations like this. I love our country. I want everyone, regardless of color or creed, to embrace the opportunities we all have in front of us and achieve real success in their lives ❤️

Eggs4breakfast i grew up in Gary, IN but my mom and dad saved up some money so they moved to Merrillville, IN because they wanted to get me, my sister and brother out of the hood. I'm glad to met Candace and Brandon at the white house and they are awesome people. I'm glad that i found a house in Florida.

@@ivancampbell8123 I don't think Brandon Tatum is looking for acceptance. I think he genuinely has more conservative views than liberal views, which is fine. You may not agree with his sentiments on President Obama's speech on police shootings, but I do think he has some points about how the Democratic party has in some ways short changed African Americans. We tend to vote Democratic in mass numbers, but recent legislation from that party hasn't really helped us (please feel free to disagree). But it's ironic actually. Most Black people that I know believe in strong family values, lower taxes, small government, the 2nd amendment, Christian beliefs, and are pro-life. These are all conservative views. They just vote Democrat because they don't see us being represented as much in the Republican party, so there is a disconnect. When we have equal representation in both parties we will have better choices in our political leadership. Just my thoughts though.

Black-ish is a black family show. And I think it’s called “mix-ed” is a spin off of it. But your right the family shows are gone, even for white people. I think Tim Allen’s show “last man standing” is the only white family conservative show. TV has gone to “reality” scripted shows with the sex and foul language. Fronk Absolutely NOT. As long as they selling Republican as the answer. When Republicans are in office, NO one is better off except the top 1%. The middle class always drops a level to poor and the poor get poorer. Always touting the trickledown. The wealthy got the tax cut, but nothing trickled down. Republicans are so brainwashed they praise their leaders as they lose their jobs and homes. I remember the Bush era.

Fronk Here is what I do know is that the trickledown nonsense the Republicans tout doesn’t work. The top 1% pocket their saving and/or pass it along to their shareholders. For the few that put it into job creation, the unemployed will mildly benefit from minimum wage jobs. The working class will see no benefit.
If the tax cuts went to the working class (middle class and poor), they will have more money, elevate their status and will spend more. When the working class spends more, the Top 1% earn more so they become wealthier. They have money to put into innovation and the working class has money to buy their new products. Everyone wins.
When you sober up and realize the red kool-aid is spiked, we really can make America great again and not the disaster Bush turned it into.

Shout to Brandon: My ex wife and I split 11 yrs ago and last year I got my kids back. My belief that they’d always come back once they got older got me through and thank God it happened.
Congratulations! It's awful when parents make us choose. My folks almost split when I was 8 and my dad in his pain and anger asked me to choose. I'd rather die at the time. But over 40 years later they are together and happy. Enjoy your children!💕

I'm getting old now. I've seen segregation, I've been bussed and integrated. My greatest wish to see before I die is for the word "race" to be removed from our language..
So good Kelly. A man-made term meant to place one group of people over another that continues to live on. There is no solution for racism within the construct of race. That only perpetrates a continuing cycle of pain, anger, revenge and death.
Race is a made up divider. All of us humans who inhabit this earth since its creation are ONE (1) RACE. Yes, our skin pigments may vary but, WE ARE ONLY ONE RACE created by our LORD in HIS IMAGE.

Just as an example (I’m not crazy, just an illustration), if aliens came to earth and tried to destroy us, I bet color/pigment/melanin wouldn’t even be an issue. Great conversation!! I was a teen in the mid to late 80s and I watched all the shows: Family Matters, Cosby, A Different World, Fresh Prince, Different Strokes and so many others. I never watched thinking, "Oh, this is a black family. How different they are from me." I watched because the situations presented were ones I could relate to. Sometimes racism was addressed but the characters never approached it with a victim mentality and I always felt like a lesson was learned by everyone...usually that we have more in common than we think.
