To be fair to Bob, he knows nothing about the Upside down and what Will went through. If he did, he never would have given that advice. He was just trying to be supportive in the best way he knew how.

It sucks because if it were normal conditions, and not The Upside Down, that would have been stellar advice! Bob is sweet and caring to Will, empathizing with him and trying to help him feel less alone and powerless 😢 I love Bob
Don't be mad at Bob. As far as Bob knows, everything is normal and this was his girlfriend's kid who is having normal sorts of nightmares from the bullying he's seen Will has been enduring. So he was just trying to help the kid learn to stand up for himself.
How TF was Bob supposed to know that Will was not just talking about a nightmare but but about interdimensional Warfare?! Good Lord LOL

Yes, he's not Hopper. Yes, he's a bit of a dork. But he's genuinely nice, he actually tries to be a good "stepdad" for Joyce's kids even though he is just there as a boyfriend, he knows absolutely nothing about the upside down and his advice surrounding nightmares is actually solid advice, he just doesn't know that Will's not exactly experiencing nightmares
Add to that he's Samwise mofokkin Gamgee from Lord of the Rings, as an actor he should earn all your respect right from the getgo on that alone
Considering how much of an a'hole Joyce's exhusband is, I think it's just nice for her to have someone she can rely on, non? Who makes her feel good especially considering the very recent trauma?
let them harp on Bob, you're not supposed to like him at first. I only knew him as the brother in 50 First Dates so it doesn't matter who the actor is, it's how he's played. and even without him knowing about Will or the Upsidedown he's giving some dangerous advice to a kid that's not his while his mom isn't around. the best part of Bob is underestimating him as a nerd and character, so that his actions later are that much more impactful and powerful. he's much more memorable as a character you might hate at first, and then grow to love the most. just relax about the actor and relax about the reaction

@@kweeniepiez it wasn't dangerous advice unless he knew about the upside down, that advice would be fine under normal circumstances. I liked him at first, so I don't think there's a way you're supposed to view the characters. There's characters I don't like who are very popular.

Bob just thinks that Will had a traumatic experience when he went missing in the woods and has nightmares and gets bullied he doesn't know the extent of it and how his advice won't work in this situation.

9:00 Regarding the Hopper / Eleven situation, I think the misstep Hopper made was to promise "soon" at the beginning, when he knew that wasn't something he could ever guarantee. Had he been more frank and honest from the beginning, rather than making promises he couldn't keep, there could've been better understanding. Instead, Eleven just winds up chalking it to - and continue to keep track of - the number of promises Hopper doesn't keep; which eventually erodes trust and faith in the adult.
Yup. Added to that is that she's been stuck in that cabin for months. It IS like a prison. Even prisoners get to go outside once in a while. Her idea about Halloween was solid, and Hop needs to understand how hard it is to be cooped up like that. But Hop is just trying to protect her. I actually really enjoy how flawed the relationship is - no one is perfect, and Hop's doing the best he can, but makes mistakes. Just like every other parent.
Pudgy's theory is destroyed by Nancy. She was in there too and isn't seeing things. Will was literally attached to it.

“How did Hop know”?? I assume with Hopper being the Chief of Police, he had being hearing reports of possible sightings of a girl in the woods… she didn’t kill that man she stole the hat from, just knocked him out

Steve didn’t actually ask Jonathan to take Nancy home. There wasn’t a scene where that happened and knowing Jonathan’s character he wouldn’t have asked questions and would’ve just gone into the bathroom to get her. Jonathan said Steve asked for him to take her home for him to help comfort her. He wanted her to feel like she hadn’t been totally abandoned. That’s part of the reason why I love Jonathan so much.
Where's your proof that Steve didn't really ask Jonathan? Just making it up? Okay, then 😃

Without proof either way, I'd rather take Jonathan's word for it cause Steve has not been shown to be a terrible person.

Oh I totally disagree. The ST trailers are fantastic. And the season 4 trailers really take it up a notch. You just feel the dread that we all felt then. I think they should watch them at the appropriate times, like before and between parts 1&2

Guys, Hop probably learned about a short haired girl, alone in the woods, who knocked out a hunter and stole his coat. The hunter probably reported it to the police and Hop had to guess it was Eleven.

It's important to remember that all this time, Bob has had no idea about the upside down, and they refuse to tell him anything. His advice would be helpful in normal situations. Given they call him 'Bob the brain', he could have been useful if they'd let him in on the secret.

you can see a recording disruption in the video, slight white lines in the shape of that huge upside down silhouette. You can easily miss it if you don’t really pay attention to the tv.
Reasonable theory as to how Hop found El is that the guy in the woods who was hunting and got attacked reported it to Hop at the station, so Hop knew immediately it was El so he started leaving food out to try and make contact. I don’t think he was a “Company Man” from the Lab hunting Eleven as he was wearing a proper red hat for hunting, if he was trying to be stealthy he wouldn’t be wearing that..maybe..) You guys do remember the end of season One where Will barfed up a slug, right? I hope you guys have a moderator who filters what you guys see..you need to have your own opinions as things develop without being affected by your viewers. The appearance of the Shadow Monster on the video could be some sort of electronic imprint, maybe Will’s connection to the Upside Down and his proximity to the camera when he sees it is magnifying the ability of the video to record the image.

The the scene with El in the bed, Hopper is reading her Anne of Green Gables. It is the same book he was reading to his daughter Sarah in the hospital last season.

To be honest, whoever told you guys that this season is worse than season 1 ought to be the biggest liar of all time. This is the second best season of the show by far after season 4. The weakest season is probably season 3 probably because the story was just building up to 4. Don't get me wrong it's the funniest and second most brutal season but 2 is definitely not a downgrade from 1
For me personally season 3 will always be my favorite 2 being my least favorite…. But it’s honestly hard to rate the seasons bc I love them all
Season 2 is deffo my fav. Then season 3 and then season 1 in 3rd. All the seasons were great but season 2 is just next level.

Hopper knew Eleven was out in the woods because of the hunter she hit with the burning log. She stole his coat and no one believed the story he told about it except Hop (I assume).

Remember when El ran into that hunter in the woods? And stole his coat? I think that was reported to the police and that is why Hopper started leaving eggos in the woods. He knew she was still out there based on that hunter’s report. The show doesn’t exactly spell it out. You have to connect the dots.

I don't know if they realise that Bob has NOT been let in on the whole secret from season 1. He thinks that Will is ONLY dealing with bullying. So, from the context he's been given, he's trying his best to help Will as much as he can.
