Dressing up a 10th century Norwegian warrior for battle

Our member Jakub Zbránek and his 10th century Norwegian gear, consisting of a mail, Gjermundbu helmet, a shield with a R563 type boss, Petersen type S sword, Petersen type M axe, Petersen type K spear and a long knife. The gear is supplemented with a massive silver penannular brooch, a armring and other accessories.

Just I have a question : why did you use Skjoldenamn tunic ? It's a very peculiar search i think and in my opinion, not in keeping with a combat outfit 🤔🤔

Are there any historical sources for using a spear or other stave to put on a mail shirt? It seems effective, but everything I've ever seen just has the wearer shimmy into or out of their armor

Bayeux Tapestry depicts some guys carrying mail armor on a pole, so it does make sense
