    After my basic test I got my hf licence in Canada - ve1qfa , my first ever hf contact was w1aw

    Cool, I've caught W1AW on 20M SSB a couple of times and most recently on some band on FT8. When I looked up the call sign I was like "awwwww I wanna check that out" but I'm on a lowly little island on the west coast of Canada. Sure makes my janky shack look even jankier, I mean I don't even have a picture of it on QRZ it's so underwhelming!

    That is cool. I did a lot of my contacts for the W1AW QSO Part in 2014 on a Kenwood 990. Great radios!
