True!
LOL ... Yup!
And the entire congregation said amen.
Done my man. It's one of the few vids I watch regularly before going out to golf. Such a beautiful tempo.
Ha, ha. Funny comment
No glove...no alignment rods...no gimmicky stuff. Just flow, tempo, simplicity. And a light breeze with birds chirping.. Amen, Freddy.
Man, if I could summarize the beauty of golf in one video this is it...just so peaceful
Amen
Maybe he would of won more
Majors if he had all that gimmicky stuff😅😅😅
There should be a channel devoted only to watching Fred Couples swing.
Check out Boom Boom channel.
ruscopcoltrain and they say Rory has the nicest swing. I say hahaha to that!
@@epakerd I love watching Rory swing. And I think he's the closest thing to Couples on the modern tour. But you're right. Ultimately, there's just no comparison.
there exit an classical music version

He may have more natural talent than any other golfer. He makes it look so effortless. A true thing of beauty.
Lol
Ernie els and tiger
@@nate_feag8044 ernie is close but tiger put in countless hours and thousands of swings to become as great as he was,Freddie just has it naturally. Just roll a ball, swing and repeat. Lol
@@davyjones922 yeah from what I heard, Freddy didn’t practice much he just played a lot of rounds
Still remember his quote to the press in the late 80s " I usually don't answer my phone, there's probably someone on the other end" 🤣🤣🤣
Many moons ago I walked the fairways at the Long Beach Open with Freddie and Corey Pavin. It was the tournament where Fred turned pro. He was carrying his Houston golf bag and on windy holes he would kick up a tuft of grass on the tee and hit his driver right off the deck. It was sheer luck that I picked that group to follow...they were unknowns. No galleries or ropes. This was at El Dorado CC.
I played there once visiting my buddy in Redondo
I followed Fred at Oakmont in the mid 80’s. He did the same thing.
nice, i saw fred for a few holes at pebble in the mid 90's, also saw clint in the crowd up close.
Could literally watch this all day
You have to love Fred’s rhythm. It’s almost like in his head he’s going “andddddd whatever.”
Exactly
Yeah!! 😂👍
Even though he’s only hitting the first couple of wedges 50-60 yards notice how he still finishes with a full follow through. Proof he’s swinging the club and the ball is getting in the way. He and Ernie Els definitely two of the sweet swingers in the recent era.
Hey guys I’m watching this video the night before my counties match tomorrow. I’m a senior in highschool and shot a 70 in the practice round which is the best anyone has ever shot in highschool counties history around me so I’m trying to win tomorrow. This video is helping me think slowly and relaxed so I just felt like sharing that. Peace everyone
Good luck this season. You picked one of the all time greats to model. Smoothest swing in golf. Ever.
Freddy’s swing is the epitome of the phrase “timing is everything”! Best swing ever.
Him and Ernie Els
Couples and Seve, two of my favorite swings.
I could watch this all day on a loop. It’s just so...simple...perfect...effortless
The most pleasing swing in golf to watch. It’s calming watching Fred Couples hit golf balls.
Freddy has been my fav pro since he started almost. Love his swing! Wish the Champions Tour has a Live broadcast similar to PGA Live - I would switch over in a heartbeat!
Just watching his swing for a few minutes before I play knocks shots off my score. That tempo is money!
Thank you for this. I could watch hours of Freddy. The range sessions are really a treat.
Not sure what's nicer, the swing, or the range grass. My local spot looks like it was hit with mortars the week prior.
🤣🤣❤️❤️🤣
I’d take mortars any day. My local place looks like it was nuked 😂
Ours gets fertilized with soil sterilant.
That is the driving range at Firestone just played there a couple of weeks ago. The range still looks the same.
This is great to watch, super relaxed swing, great tempo
GEEZ! At 60 years old!? He swings smoother than pro's half his age! My generation best golfer by far.
Feel asleep watching. Woke up and he was still hitting balls
Watching Freddie is good for my swing. His tempo is perfect. So is his ball striking
It’s like after each shot he’s trying to catch up on the driving range gossip. I’ve met him twice the last 20 years and he’s always so friendly to his fans.
this is so calming for me. what a beautiful swing! i wonder why, given how effortless his swing seems, he's had so many back problems?? seems like a nice guy. i've always liked fred.
Open stance push swing. He aligns himself left of his target and pushes the swing in order for it to go straight towards his target. This is not at all good for your lower back and in later years he’s talked about how he’s trying to square his stance because of the lower back problems it causes.
Plus he's a long hitter. He swings the club very fast.
That is one of the best ranges I have ever seen!!!!
I could watch him swing all day. So smooth, so perfect. Looks effortless. I wish I could do it like him. Best swing in the pga
the swing you could watch all day, just so relaxing to watch. i like to watch before i go out and play, maybe it'll rub off on me i hope.
His timing is impeccable such a beautiful move through the ball
Freddie has got the smoothest swing in golf.
Ernie els
Either one.....they are smooth as silk
@@Kanchen8 at one point, about 15 years ago, i was trying to mimic ernie's swing.
Sam Snead as well
Oosthuizen has gotta be up there too
Because of all the bad media these days, i am going to cancel my cable subscription and just play this in a loop. my world will be much better....
I love how he didn't know the shaft in his L wedge when the rep asked him. Love that about Freddy all feel.
He has such an effortless swing it's so smooth ⛳
Bought my first set of Lynx parallax irons and boom boom woods because of FC. Still have them and still swing them from time to time. Love watching him swing.
The most fluid swing in golf.
One of the all time best swings in golf.
I love to watch peoples golf swings on the range. This one is is a cut above them all.
There’s not enough O’s In smooth to describe his swing!❤
He makes the golf swing look so natural and effortless.
smooth Freddie :) ..one of my all-time faves
Wedge shots hes using weight of his arms (gravity) only. I incorporated this myself after watching him long ago. Consistent and saves alot of energy
I can't decide if this or staring at aquarium fish is more relaxing.
Saw him swing at a Jr event in Pilchuck WA when he was 14 and I was 17. Same amazing tempo. Before they called him Boom-boom, we called him Bam-Bam because he was so small and hit it so long!
Great Story!
Mt Pilchuck was one of my favorite hikes. Played many courses around that area when I lived in Lynnwood and Everett.
8:57 is the highlight of the whole thing. Commentary about Crazy Chicken in Akron, a muted f-bomb from Freddy, and an impressive ball scratch. Good stuff man.
Have you seen the cable channels that just show a hearth with some Yule logs burning during the holidays to help you chill out? The Golf Channel should have this range session on during the holidays for us golfers who live in cold climates. My blood pressure goes down just watching this swing! I watched him hit 3 woods, one after the other, over the back fence of the driving range at Oakmont with the same languid, effortless swing. He mesmerized you with his tempo!!
I keep thinking , gosh, he’s probably done this a million times and he still seems like he’s into every single shot. And I need to know who the 8 people are who hit thumbs down... Langer? McCarron? Fletsch? Monty?
A lot of the younger tour pros could learn from this man. His attitude is so easy going. I am sure he gets disappointed when he isn’t playing well. But his demeanour never changes. There are three people I would love to just sit and talk to in the world. Fred is one of them.
Freaking effortless! Incredible!❤
Ol Boom Boom still has the smoothest swing in golf. Always perfectly balanced.
"Like ... butter" -- Johnny Miller on Fred's swing.
My favorite of all time! Only guy I've seen almost in full sprawled out nap faze waiting for other players to hit. Davis Love III dared to grace the same fairways
Same as how you get to Carnegie Hall...
Whenever I feel myself rushing or just out of sync, I "walk like Freddie" and the tension just leaves me... Really helps with putting...
Great to see Bernhard there as well 😊
fred seems like the one guy that doesn't need a coach, a natural.
The greatest natural swing in the history of golf.
Mr Fred Couples, ladies and gentlemen.
Looks like he's ready to fall asleep but never misses the center of the club face
marc marini I saw an interview with Freddie when he said there was a time he went like 7 years without ever having a mishit.
@@arthurford829 i havent hit one iron flush for 2 years 😶
@@arthurford829 thanks Arthur. I'm a big Freddy Fan. And who isn't !
@@AW93_ Freddy' s being modest. He hasn't missed the center of the club face since he we 16. He has a dime sized wear make on the sweet spot on his irons
@@marcmarini6365 how does he do it? Its almost supernatural- God given talent.
The greatest swing ever in the history of golf .
Wish he had won more Majors. Love this golf swing.
back acted up in his prime
Payne Stewart and Fred Couples, my two favourite golfers. Both have beautiful languid swings. Effortless power.
Had. The plane went down.
Meditation for golfers. 👌🏼
Crazy... Bernard Langer , arguably the greatest Champions Tour player of all time, looks like a 12 handicapper next to Fred.
He puts very little effort into the swing but it still carries and gets the distance he wants. So textbook and calm at the same time. Virtually perfect!!!
Oh that rythem and tempo is to die for as a guy in his mid 60s I watch videos of Freddie I used to swing hard with a high mph swing speed long but sometimes erratic now because of injuries age and the limitations they've caused I've slowed my tempo right down changed from stiff to regular flex shafts and still hit it just as far if not further with a more rytmical swing and results so much more consistent and with the lowest handicap in my mid 60s I've ever had think tempo and rythem before hitting every shot on course think Fred couple's it will help your game immensely
Its like a warm hug.
I was there about 900 yards away. There was nobody allowed there except the volunteers. Got to follow Freddie and Ernie around. Freddie blocked one on 7 to the right into the woods. He hit a root on his second shot through the trees to 15 ft of the pin. Beautiful shot even if he wasn’t hitting them well that week.
Fred and Na Yeon Choi....marvels.
We’ll throw in the Euro Tour player Raphael Jacquelin as well - not as successful, but terrifically smooth and easy.
The most beautiful swing with or without the extra weight around the middle.
32:44 best sounding driver.
The most demoralizing video to watch. How can he not have the urge to hit ? Gifted. Beautiful.
God that’s beautiful. Same swing since the 80’s
Smooth....I've always liked Freddie, just a cool cat all around.
And the greatest snr tour player behind him!
I could (did) watch that for hours. It's Ali in the ring, Senna in the McLaren and Röhrl in the S1: perfect!
Fred's caddie is dialed so hard into that material man.
He could hit a raw egg and make it land softly on the range again without breaking 😊. Brilliant swing - best ever...
I remember swinging like Couples back when I was learning to.play.....I watched Jack Nicklaus and used his swing as a model .....read "How I Play Golf" and watched the videos.
Then Couples became my favorite because I used to lift the club.....it felt natural......and drop it in the slot......then I started reading Hogan and other instruction books and tried all these things.
Before that I had a huge shoulder turn that my group I used to play with would marvel at.....and with my Lynx Boom Boom driver......that Couples played with......which had the head of my 3 wood today and steel shaft.....I could easily drive 300 yard par 4's because I just swung freely and let it go.
Then I tried to get in all these positions and better my swing....would work here and there but would do so for a round then I would lose it and have to find again.
Went back to just lifting the club and dropping into the slot with pitches, chips, irons, drivers, etc., and played so much better.
Like Couples my driver became my favorite club again.....and Putter.
Not a scratch player but can match any group I play with no matterthe skill level all because I played whzt I naturally felt and it was ok for my elbow to fly.....LOL
Is that just the best golf swing ever ? 👍🏌️♀️⛳️
From his first swing to his last swing, no matter what club he’s using, it is the exact same swing.
Same tempo, not the same swing
That's the most impressive part too.
@@stephendibari5010 it should be the same swing for all your clubs.
I am amazed Fred can hit that many warm up balls with his back issue, I sure cant.
Im 40 and im limited on warm up balls..
You can if you choose to. The idea of pain and related maladies gives you the only excuse needed to not try harder. Do something else for entertainment that’s easy and ready made for the feeble minded. They tell me checkers is a safe bet.
get a massage gun, it will change your golf life. It vibrates your joints and loosens them up better than anything else.
Do you two guys know what long time chronic lower back pain feels like? Not that simple you know.
I live it every day.....was a good single digit golfer....had to quit the game I loved.@@generalgrant3189
Great timing and sequence lessons for every golfer still
Poetry in motion!!
GREAT SWING PERIOD. FC IS A COOL DUDE✌
Outside of grip, posture and alignment, forget everything you've ever been taught about the golf swing and just watch this video everyday for one year....scratch golfer.
Whenever my swing breaks down I review Fred's smooth timing. Not hard nor fast just smooth and complete. His dispersion must be no more than two yards!
A swing like a man totally at ease with the world !
The guy raking the trap confirms that there are no amateurs on the range. I must’ve rewind this video 100 times.
This is as relaxing as a lofi channel.
I just woke up. How long have I been out?
Ángel Cabrera spotted there, maybe the last time he was outside!
So effortless
The beauty of Freddy Couples swing is it’s just an upper body turn with very little hip movement on the back swing and a nice easy weight shift going forward but with club head speed. No muscle tightening and rigidity like a springing tiger of today’s PGA players.
What a lineup of legends.
The coolest sound I ever heard is him hitting his approach to 14 in the 92 Masters. Find it on UA-cam, it's at 1:56:00 in the video. Amazing!
Just watched it, and wow what a sound
That’s the purest iron shot I’ve ever heard
man that is so true! will definitely go back to it 700 times until the end of the year
Well that was the reaction to having the microphone right on top of the swing.
What might be cool is a Super Bowl of Golf. The PGA Tour vs PGA Champions - top 5 or so from each tour going at it like the President's Cup or the Ryder Cup.
I think I know his method. Full shoulder turn combined with big arm lift above shoulder shoulder plane. A ticket to effortless club head speed thanks to gravity. Keeps his right foot down as long as possible which is pulled up in follow through secondary to the momentum of the club and rotating torso.
ASMR by Fred Couples and you go into lucid golf dreams.
“I give him 100 dollars a week .... he lives in his car.”
The best swing EVER
I want to know who Fred said couldn't run an ice cream truck but was making 45 million a year...
He's talking about NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Time stamp?
Same here !
@@alexkimball7131 absofuckinglutely
Goodell now makes over 60 million a year.........still can't run an ice cream truck.
Incredible....
notice he loops about an inch from top...actually most great players do..but its so subtle...many miss how important that move is
For me this is like white noise so relaxing
