Lakers can hire anyone and people can't do anything about that! They can hire a rookie, college, or a veteran coach. at the end of the day, it will only become a good hire if it can bring a championship ring to the Lakers.
Nate McMillan should be considered for Redick’s staff, 19 years HC experience and is a good defensive guy. Him & Borrego 🤞

No matter what happens I feel like it's going to be a long season, if not a couple seasons for the Lakers.
At this point it seems like it's going to take time to build a solid contender with all around talent from top to bottom that is good enough to compete for a championship.
Don't get me wrong it would be great if management pulled some miracles off with talented, young athletes and the head coach whoever that ends up being is another Phil Jackson.
The percentages and looking at past moves that Lakers management has and hasn't done tends to speak towards the opposite of that actually happening though.
Personally I'm gearing up for a long next season if not a few seasons honestly.

I think JJ Redick being a head coach for the Lakers will have a similar path with Steve Nash's coaching with the Nets.

If they don’t put a good coaching staff around him, I agree. Though, I don’t think it’s all “doom and gloom”. Luckily for JJ, the bar is pretty low after how things finished with Ham. And more likely than not, the Lakers will have a better team this season compared to last.

Makes no sense to have a non experienced wannabe coach making more than people/players that had more experience and success on the Lakers coaching staff being paid less when the Lakers have no chance of winning next season. The same scenario when the nets had no experience sorry ass Steve Nash as the head Coach and Mike as the assistant.
