I bought this keyboard for my first midi studio when it came out in preference to a Yamaha D 50 which had carved out a new market for Polysynths. It offered many facilities that are now offered as essential basic but at the time represented a major leap forward and consequently sold in massive numbers and briefly became the go to keyboard for people getting into midi. I never got into the LA synthesis like I did with FM on DX7, which I had rented previously for recording sessions, so ultimately I found that what I could do easily had quickly become clichés. I am glad that someone is interested in this fine instrument but these days I am much more interested by contemporary synths like Modal Argon 8 and Cobalt 8
What a perfect overview! Thank you!

Lucky dude
What do you think of its older / cheaper brother, the D-10?
