What an amazing little bike. Can’t wait to get my hands on one for my almost 3 yr old. He’s been zooming up and down on his balance bike for a good year now. He’s so ready for this one.
Hey thank you for your review. I like the fact you mention Canadian made. I usually shop after knowing where the product is from and many of reviews and even to buy from online. They don’t mention it. Thanks for the review. I am looking for bike now to shop for my son 4th birthday next month.
You're welcome! If you happen to go with this bike I think it will work well for your soon to be 4 year old! My kids have been riding it hard over the last year or so and it is hold up really well!
The drivetrain "crunchyness" is because the chain is too tight, the freewheel and chainring are not perfectly round, you need to find the position where it's tight and losen/re-tighten the rear wheel, rotate and repeat until youve found the sweet spot
The drivetrain on a 14" that I ordered was binding and crunchy as well. I think this is an issue on all of them as the chain ring and cassette do not look compatible with each other as they cause the chainline to be way out, as in not in line with each other. I was able to return for a full refund and they were great to deal with though!
5:14 that's probably faulty free hub, or wrong bearings width was put in the freehub if it's a modern hub, but it can also be faulty bottom bracket, but my bet is it's the freehhub. Did you get it fixed?
Nope, still is “crunchy”. It doesn’t seem to be causing any problems after well over a year of use, just noisy. I still can’t figure out what it is 🤷🏼♂️
Hi. I bought the 16” version of this bike for my son. Just put it together and I did notice the slight crunch of the drive train, though nothing seemed to get “stuck”. One other thing I noticed is that the headset only has a lower bearing. The upper part where the stem attaches just flops around. If I tighten the bolt to prevent that then the steering kind of binds up. Did you notice this as well?
Hi Chris. Thats weird...I haven't noticed any issues with the headset. Everything seems to be working fine on this bike. Have you tried to contact Park Cycles about it? They may have a remedy?
Penny Pinching Cyclist I have since reached out to them and they helped me diagnose the fact that it was missing a bearing on the top part of the headset. So everything was just flopping around. They’re sending one out right away in time for Christmas. Great customer service!
4:13 ops I commented on the brake levers having reach adjustment, but I later saw you discovered that. My review of the TRP ML800 levers: wp.me/p60aTF-2t9 These levers are quite similar to these, th almost the same, the body looks the same, but seems liek there is slight difference in lever blade.

Awesome! Ya my boys love riding this bike! Still works great👍

Thanks for the video, really considering this bike

Those bike in a box are not adjusted from the factory usually, you need to do a full tune up, brakes, bearings/grease, chain tension, etc.
Park cycles removed the video you linked (and I needed)!
Just got the 2020 14” and the drive train angle is still terrible. They tell you to run the chain super loose to “fix” it. Such a joke.

Have you had a chance to try the 14X?
I have not tried the 14x, but it looks nice! The disc brakes would be a nice upgrade.
