Thanks to the Reporter reacting like this and supporting them with "You gotta go rn" bc I saw many reporters who wanted to finish their interview and hindered the firefighters with doing their job.
Thanks
Everybody talking about the slow door and the firefighters, nobody talking about how the reporter played that so well with great improv
Thanks 🙂
Hello
The door isn’t that slow….
@@smoketinytom yes it is. Especially considering it's use case.
@@Rokomarn no, it's not slow, especially compared to the doors at my department I'm an Explorer at. Key is, first in the bay opens the doors.
I came from the "How firefighters eat" video, how about you?
Yes
Same here!
Yes
Lol same.. we're all in the same simulation
Same
Those lights...modern and old school at the same time.
Gives me an erection.

Ooooookaay....we are going to get you a nice pillow....or fresh apple pie.
Called the Whelen rotabeam series
They be THICC
wcresponder I don’t like apple pie. I only eat spaghetti.
That engine lit up like a Christmas tree
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a light pattern like that
Hayden G. Me neither honestly
There going to a rave
Those are Whelen RotaBeam lights. They’re LED light modules meant to mimic old rotator lights and attract more attention to the truck.
@@haydeng.957 A lot of cities in North Carolina have these lights. Mainly Charlotte, Harrisburg, Kannapolis etc.
You think the garage door would open faster in a fire station...
Granted, they're probably finished or almost done getting in the truck, starting it and getting situated by the time it's open enough to leave.
No not really. The don’t make special fast garage door openers as far as I know.
Well, same factory😂
Patrick T they do, but they are vertical steel bifolding doors. I don’t like them. More dangerous in my opinion. (Crush hazard) our department started installing them in the new stations.
Heeman5 there are many solutions for faster opening doors but it’s just not necessary so why bother.
Betcha he had dispatch generate a few false calls so he could get out of doing the interview....
jsbFF08 Damn fine idea
Also best way too get out of being on a date if you don't like the chick. 😆 😆
XD
@@jsmith198095 been there done that lol
I feel attacked...😂
It’s a medical so they didn’t need to put there gear on
Carmello Sanders The gear is usually in the truck so that if they are returning from a medical call when a fire call happens they don’t have to stop by the station to get their gear.
@@jacksontimblin4106 ? I'm pretty sure it was medical. If it was fire they would have dressed outside of the vehicle
NFPA says if the truck don't move till every one is buckled up. They don't need bunker gear for that call or they'd have it on before jumping in the truck.
(Volunteer Fire Fighter) I thought it was really strange that they don’t keep their gear laying outside the Engine. We just quickly throw everything inside on medicals.
Sky I’ve never heard of that. Just keep it in the rig. Sounds like an easy way to leave hear behind.
You can tell when my producer was in my ear, asking if I needed to send it back to the studio. "Keep it right here"
Great job Wilson !! I'm a firefighter in Canada, wish you were here to do a story. I have to tell you quickly, you saw just how busy we can get. One shift, we work 24 hr shifts, so we start at 8am, and leave the next day at 8am. I usually hit the sack around midnight. Some say it's bad luck to do so any earlier, but depending on the type of day we've had, midnight has my bed calling for me !! Well, for whatever reason, this one shift kicked our asses ! I literally tried to go to bed 6 times !! By that I mean I walked up the stairs to our bedroom, only to have the alarm go off and back down the stairs went. Get back to the hall, do what we had to do, and walked back up the stairs. I think I got 1 leg in the sheets this 1 time, but that was it. That night, we finally got into bed around 5am. Oh and we wake up at 7am, mandatory !! Needless to say, I stopped at the White Castle for a 12 pack of burgers, and home I went. Trust me, nothing like 12 White Castles and a 8 hr nap !!!! Peace.
Aaron Michael I’m a volunteer firefighter/EMT in western Maryland, and I can tell you we’ve had days like that too! One that sticks out in my mind was a day when we had six brush fire calls in the county and our firehouse and/or substation responded to five of them, and then we had an accident, an automatic fire alarm, and an open burning complaint on top of all that! Every time I tried to leave the station, the klaxon would go off for another call (one time I’d just opened the door to my truck when it went off!), and things finally slowed down around 7 that night. I told the deputy chief then, “No offense, but I’m getting the hell out of here now before something else happens!” (He laughed), and I was all but crawling up the stairs when I got home, I was so wiped out! My younger daughter took one whiff of me (smoke and sweat) and immediately cleared out, ordering me to hit the shower before I did anything else. And no wonder-after a day like that, you need the full Silkwood!
Days like that are why my Rule #30 is: Nobody says the “Q” word in the firehouse or to a firefighter!
Heard in other videos, firefighters have 3.5 minutes to leave the station from call to the truck exiting. 20 seconds??? That's a great time!
@@dragondancer1814BOY IT SURE IS QUIET!!!
@@memesistolefromifunny9165 If we get slammed today I’m putting all the blame on YOU!!!!
Dispatched In 20 seconds... 19 seconds for that shutter roller door
Lol
They really should reverse it. Like the door could be dropped down into a hole or fall flat and be run over by the truck. Then simply rolled back up later
@@topheavykoolaid Or they could just keep it lifted up
Not really fast since they didn’t have to out on any gear.
My local fire dpt. Needs to drive to de department first and then put on gear and drive away. They leave in a short 2min and 30 seconds.
The alarm should open the door.
That fire truck got the best lights love it
People "OMG That garage door is soooo slow!!!"
Garage door: Didn't realize a 14 second opening time was slow...
Engine: *rolling out of the fully open door within 45 seconds of the tones coming in* (they start sounding at 0:15, door starts opening 14 seconds later at 0:39, fully open at 0:53 truck is moving a second later at 0:54, 38 seconds after the tones first start ringing.... pretty damn good time pretty much everywhere... address must've been a common or easily recognized one, because the driver/Engineer didn't have to spend a few seconds looking at the map first or anything.
Don't know what more people want...
Even if they didnt know, the captains computer automatically maps the call. He can press a button and get the first turn.
the way it works at my house the garage opens automatically with the call and the shoreline ejects, so by the time we’re all mounted up we’re good to go. The MDT automatically maps it and the radio dispatch gives us a map section so we always know which direction to turn out of the station. Makes us stupid fast, and I like it.
Everyone: “THE DOOR DIDNT OPEN FAST ENOUGH”
The call: *86 year old female with a bruise on her right arm needs a ride to the hospital*
I remember my boyscoust troop was visiting the fire house and they got a call and left, we all just stood there for a minute and then was like cool, time to go home
Your time and efforts and service are deeply appreciated thanks to everyone who responds keep them safe out there job well done you should be proud appreciate you guys thanks ! Joe
That Crown Vic in the background😍
Was thinking the same thing lol looks so clean
Now thats what i call quick response, you guys need to show a few other departments on speed....well done guys.....
If they are actually this fast on average.. that is impressive
I put a like for the Crown Vic! ❤

Not many of them but if it was a Tahoe I would be blowing the likes up on many other accounts 😉
@@thomasgrosse3406 Is it a joke? 🤦♂️
Anyone want to share light on its use ?
I love the nitpicking on the door speed nvm they were out the door in less than 30 seconds .. I've been a paramedic for decades and have worked with many differing FDs; CFD is the best fd I've ever worked with most other agencies wouldn't have been out of their lounge that quickly.
There ARE a lot of door comments lol
EXCELLENT JOB GUYS KEEP IT UP AND GOOD WORK !! (;
I have to admit no department is out the door in 20 Seconds seriously i was always told you have a1minute to jump out of bed during the night get your gear on and respond to the station or call. But wow 20 seconds out the door i wish that was a policy for all departments that have station staff
Ya for volunteer it's obviously not gonna be 20s bc you need to get to the station. But it's possible that career could leave in 20 sum seconds since you're already there.
Ok🖤

It entirely depends on the call. Not turning out makes a huge difference
Slow Down Move over Share the road with cyclist I mean they’re not at night time sleeping but yea if they were, it’s for sure they wouldn’t make it out by 20 sec
How fire fighters eat: *splatter*
How fire fighters attend the fire: *flash*
Lovely Engine and Crown Vic right there, looks lit at night
One time my dad had a call so as usual they were running to the truck and someone opened a door fast and it hit my dad and knocked him out
No one runs in the fire service...
For exactly that reason, brisk walk and a controlled turnout
Brayden Jackson funny joke
“Ok who the fuck knocked him out”
@@Kylehikes47 it's not a joke
Relaxed as hell compared to the Croatian one.
I counted when the call comes out and the truck starts moving it takes 45 seconds

Would love to find out who makes the red beacons on the rear and sides of that truck. We have been looking for those for awhile now
MMO Radio whelen makes these. Part of the new roto beacon series I believe. I prefer ther power arc oscillating leds myself, they give off better warning but to each their own.
Roto-beam.
I would be out the door in 20 seconds if I didn’t have to get changed and was standing 5 meters from my car.
My youngest son was just hired at an FD....hes so happy to fight fire and help people.
No hesitation, no gear.
daniel brown More than likely an EMS run
Tom Nim so? That happens if u get a medical and just as you clear the medical you get a fire?
daniel brown You dress in the truck, it would be dumb to wear full turnouts to every EMS run
Tom Nim dude they got in the truck before they even finished the page. And you do not gear up in a truck. I'm both FF and AEMT
daniel brown Usually you can just look at the on board computer for address and run type so you don't have to listen to the full dispatch. Also you've never geared up in a truck? Its quite common in my area
my dream is to be an fire fighter cant wait! 😩
EDIT: WAIT THIS IS CFD, I SEEN THAT ENGINE BEFORE
I’ve actually never seen doors closed like that in daytime hours. I understand weather and nighttime situations you probably need them closed but daytime I was surprised by. Not that they weren’t out fast or anything but when every second counts, I don’t know.
They may have had it closed so the interview would not get interrupted by outside traffic
Actually it may have been closed because of roving bands of rabid racoons
We close them to ensure no one with ill intentions gets in or anything. It really just adds a few extra seconds
Maybe a bad part of town.
They really gotta get the door on the garage to open faster xD
in our station it opens as the call is sent to the on-board pc and pagers
Good luck with that
Those lights on the truck are awesome
That's reminds me, my dad is a fireman and I visit him all the time and a few times as soon as I got there he had to go
I thought they were bleeping him out because he cursed, turns out it was just the bell
You did a great job 👍
That door opening was the slowest thing I’ve seen to date
There is just something in the human brain that instantly focuses on the slow doors.
The door is like: what's the hurry folks?
Saved by the bell for that interview. haha
One time I was on a school field trip to the local fire department when they got a call. The alarm scared me half to death...
i seen a video of Croatian firefighters taking a call right before their national team scored a goal on TV. they were out so quick, there's no way these guys could get there faster than the Croatian dudes lol
They should invest in a faster door
It only took 12 seconds for the door to open, its not a friggin cartoon where it swings open in a millisecond
I wanna work for Charlotte fd that’s like my dream, I’m hoping to be there by my early 20s :)
*My house is already burning!!!
Garage Door: W a i t.
People swear the door needs some rocket assistance 😂
You have to know either to turn left or right before you leave the station.
Have you ever see a full fire station go in under 10 seconds its impressive
Out in 20 secs!
Door takes 19......😂
Dude I’m the uniform on the left just wanted to be on tv😂😂
The firefighters got a Vic??? Nice
These american firefighter Trucks Looks awesome
That was unexpected, but hey, it fits!
Is this Charlotte county FL?
No, Charlotte NC
You'd think the door opens faster
Health and safety has gone mad. We used to be able to do this (get ready en route in the truck) now we need to don all our gear outside the truck before we leave. Puts a massive delay on getting out the door. New pumps also have the BA sets in external lockers meaning you can't get into air en route to a fire. You arrive, need to step out the pump, open the locker, remove the set from its harness then don it while standing which is kinda awkward, quickly get into air, do a pre entry check then go. Whereas before we'd do all that enroute so the minute you get there you can get straight into the building. Ridiculous
Well it really depends on how you look at it. Getting gear on while driving could be potentially dangerous on rough roads, or if a intense maneuver is made. If a firefighter is injured, that's one less person who can assist. That's also one more patient (depending on the injury) which will take at least 2 personnel off the scene, which makes 3 total. It's the same way with speed while responding, when lights and sirens are on you aren't forcing people over, you are merely requesting right of way. If you're speeding, and you get into an accident, an entire apparatus and it's crew is now out of service. Sure the truck can go 70+ but what's stopping a person from walking in front of your truck. Sure you have lights and sirens, but what's stopping an idiot from pulling out in front of you at traffic lights. These are all things that must be considered for an effective and efficient response. Does a 1 minute delay look that bad compared to you crashing and then there's a 5+ minute delay because other responding trucks have to help you instead of the house that's burning?
if your opinion starts with “health and safety is bad” you should probably reconsider your opinion
Cops be like: Oh! so somebody needs them somehow?
I agree that is quick but in most departments, they quickly put on their turnout gear before getting on the engine. We have a brand new 2021 pierce and it's much lower so practically impossible to stand and don our gear inside so we would lose valuable time if we don't don't before heading out.
They need a faster garage door opener
What slow door ?? There response was immediate.
People: MY HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!
Firefighters: WAIT!! the door is still opening
Except there isn't a fire.
Same goes for when youre justabout to eat a meal....first bite, tones go off lol
Damn, that door is slow af

How many Flash Lights you want?

The public dreams of a world where cops take their jobs as seriously as these guys do, with the goal of actually helping us. They need to start recruiting cops from firefighters who have the right motivations, but want a change, or have firefighters rotate to be cops.

Are the hoses and cones on the back of the truck locked in, or just free?
