Bought the game a few days ago, ten hours play time lmao. Day twenty three. First character took a risk and went to a big island. He did NOT make it! This now is my second character. I AM LOVING this game. It's chill, and challenging and rewarding. It's very Tom Hanks in Cast Away, or Survivor. Really enjoying it. I have my main base island and three others explored, looted and claimed. My boat took forever, learning curve, but finally got it looking great with storage, light pole and just need ONE final part for the engine build. SO FUN! Sailing is also real fun. Anyway, the game is so much fun and I think it's totally worth the price, on sale now ;)
Ok, I've got a couple questions, I've seen you and others do it in your videos, but none explain exactly how it's done. 1: How exactly do you turn a raft with no rudder? 2: How do you throw items half way across the screen out of sight? 3: Related to 2, I've seen you break coconuts in half by throwing them on the ground, how do you do that exactly? as in what buttons or combo of buttons lets you do that? 4: Where/how do you get the container scrap to make walls with? 5: Where/How did you get the shark hat you are wearing in some of your videos and how do you actually wear it and can you take it back off? Great video btw, keep em' coming!
I can answer a few of these with words. The raft. Better shown. I'll make a short on it. Throwing items is the same as it is in real life. Right click, hold to drag an item. Wind up and throw. 😂 This is also how you break coconuts in half. Nothing special to it. The container scrap comes from shipping containers. Some islands have them, most don't. They are a bitch to move, but they look nice The shark hat signifies that I am playing hard mode. The propeller hat is creative mode, no hat is normal mode. You can't remove it at will. So, to throw, hold right mouse to drag, and quickly move the mouse in the direction you wish to throw the item and release? Did I understand that correctly? @@JustRobPlays Cali native huh? I'm sorry, JK, LOL, hated LA, LOVED Malibu, hated San Diego, LOVED Palm Springs... the diving off the southern Cali coast especially around Malibu was freakin awesome. Even in Jan. and Feb. never once got cold, and most of the time I was skin diving with just an air tank and flippers. Have you ever been diving? if not man yer missing out, was so much fun in my younger days, too old and too many disabilities to be able to do it now, but man the memories. There is one little issue I have with the series, especially since you are trying to go for a more "realistic" view point. That would be the use of the outside cartographer map. Realistically if you are stranded in the Pacific Ocean you are not going to have a map of every island around you and not going to know where anything is. The in game hand drawn map mod however that Hantacore has made, honestly in my personal honest opinion is more realistic and makes much more sense. It takes the knowledge that the character has accumulated and literally drawn a crude map by hand of their surroundings, making it both realistic and beneficial in the game. Cartographer is great for speed running and maybe "casual" play, but for a "realistic hardcore permadeath" run, nah IMHO it's too cheaty and takes the fun out of discovery of finding things. In my current play through I'm using a random world, many of the mods you're using and the map mode, to "keep track" of my travels and exploration. I have not touched cartographer and I'm having a lot of fun making new discoveries and finding things I didn't know were there. But it's just my opinion, I'm still enjoying the content and find it fun. Oh, one more thing, if you are going for monetization I don't think smoking on camera is allowed. I'm not 100% sure, but I do know a few content creators of other games with a few hundred thousand subs and even tho they smoke, they don't do it on cam. Most people don't care but I think UA-cam can be really anal about certain things. Anyway, keep the content coming mate, and good luck, and I hope you can reach all your UA-cam goals 😁
sebrf again. I followed GameEdged from the Forest (Shudder!) to SD a couple of years ago. After following him through SD from start to finish i pretty well had a good handle on the game. I did have a hard time handling tires through tight spaces until I found out about using the blueprint. You're in luck if you find a big ship. The starboard side has a hole you can walk into. Fibrous plants re-spawn 24 game hours after they are harvested, Yukka plants about 48 hrs. Use a fishing spear to gather lion fish. You can make shark repellent with them. You always wake up hungry in SD. I now use a lot of custom Islands so my go to raft is a 5 X 5 using tires and barrols. (Sorry hammerhead)

I can remember back then in there road map their future plans were to just take stranded deep to differnt climates etc. Hope thats still a thing. Id love 1 in a really cold environment. GG mate 👍
Never sleep. You don't need to do it at all. Your character will never get tired. And if you sleep, your food/water bar will drain, and instead of it, you could be doing something else while it drains.
I can't lie. I knew that a part 2 would be difficult to make since so many different things can happen starting on day 2. Sharks, storms, poison. I hope this helps! Cheers :)
Sr, good tutorial, I want to tell you 2 things: 1. Sleep time is random when there are no pending processes. For example, when the game is advanced and you already have the gasoline collector, if you leave it with a fire underneath and also leave a fire lit with meat being smoked, the sleeping time will always be the same, and always choosing to sleep, after 1 AM , that only applies under these conditions 2. the technique of escaping from a shark by going to the bottom is good but it only applies with hammerhead sharks and tiger sharks. If you are very unlucky enough to find a goblin shark or a white shark, this technique will not work, I tell him that you have to be unlucky because the goblins and the whites do not enter much of the part of the platform of the islands, where they are the sunken ships. They don't go in much, but sometimes they do roam the ground, although this situation is quite rare, because they are deep. congratulations for not using mods for maps, the technique you use is perfect, I even open the screenshot that I take of my map in paint program and I color the islands visited, the ones that still have palm trees left, etc etc. Kiss, keep uploading videos, I'll be attentive. keep alive.

About the weather it is dynamic ppl allways complain about the storms!! But it seems like it seasons equally same for everyvone like it will go days upon days with good weather in the summer months while it will storm alot in like from march to april beginning of may and then it will just be some rain days after that from time to time….

If you are only trying to beat the game. You don't need them. But if you want to spend some time in the game, you will want farming plots to produce fiberous leaves at the bare minimum. I always plant during a storm and get free water. I rarely have to water them but they will die after a while. It takes a long time.
I remember when I first played SD. I was soooo lost. I figured it out on my own, but I made a ton of mistakes. Once I beat the game on my own. I went looking for tips to refine my game. All I found was terrible tutorials with terrible advice 😂 and that's how I started making videos.
Ya dont need potatoes until after day 50... you should have been picking up the creates, not just looting them... that crate can hold up to 25 items in that one inventory slot
I just recently discovered fibrous leaves can be used to refill campfire, don't know if anyone has done a tips on this or not, but is there any other fuels for campfire other than stick palm fronds and fibrous leaves??
I have a problem, you see I was looking around at islands and all the ones around me are large islands. They all have rock structures and tall palm trees. What should I do?
Im keep poisining while mining clay from lion fishes and i yhink its impossible to kill them i axed them 100 times it didnt died and PIPI plsnts just enough to cure poison i tried to plant more than 1 but i must to craft antidote otherwise before next harvest i die

Every tutorial I see says go for the yucca plant on your starter island. I’ve reset the game 4 times and have never seen the yucca plant. Anyone know what gives? Xbox.

I tried to sail to another island and got attacked by a hammer head and end up losing my raft 😂
Bad luck!!! Asshole sharks! There's so much that can go wrong. It's hard to make a video that gets all of it.
Me lol was life rafting along and it keep getting flipped and I'm like dang maybe i just don't know how to row and than I fell and got bit by. Ashark

If it helps. I heard sharks flip 1 tile rafts. Such as the starting raft. So if building one make sure it's at least 2 bases wide 👍🏼

I'm a beginner in this game, it's fun to play but water is extremely hard to come by, the stills only work after it rains and rain is uncommon

It's 2 pipi on ps4 to craft antidote. I am experienced and survived over 150 days but just love watching videos of sd.

Nope. that's all of them. It takes 12 leaves to fill it and it is a huge waste in the early game, but later it's feasible.

That's DEFINITELY not right. There should be at least 1 on every island. I would report that to the official SD forums and a bug.

If you are playing on Hard mode on console. You don't get the life raft when you spawn.

You'll have to build temporary scaffolding to build upwards.
