    Vichy's Mineral 89 is my holy grail for hydration and has been a staple in my skincare routine for years. In my opinion, it is the best hyaluronic serum on the market because it not just another HA serum but a deeply soothing, refreshing, and skin barrier strengthening product. The Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Resurf Serum has been on my shopping radar for a while and you have firmed it up now - thank you!

      Thanks for validating my thoughts on the Vichy HA - I agree, it isn't just about the HA with that serum. It seems to do so much more for my skin too.
      Have a great week 🥰

    Your “tube” tangent reminded me of the Ted Lasso episode when they spoke about semantic satiation; when words become a sound. Too funny. 😡❤️

    I use CAIL in the drier cold months and CAIS in the humid hot months. And yes, CAIL is a one and done - I don’t use anything else on CAIL nights - so considering that, it isn’t that expensive (plus the tube lasts me 6 months with 3x week use)

    • @ChristaEvelyn
      @ChristaEvelyn  Рік тому +1

      I agree! A little goes a long way with this serum, I think due to its oily texture - it spreads really easily on the skin.
      I should switch to CAIS in the summer too - great tip!

    I was eyeing that sane sunscreen on stylevana due to the amazing price abd size but I ultimately passed because of the high alcohol content. I'd still use that though over typical western sunscreens any day

    Thanks for reviewing beautiful Christa! As you know, I love the NIOD CAIL and CAIS and I agree, I wait until November to purchase. I've found that chemical sunscreens sting my eyes when I go swimming. 😡❤ Have a fabulous Sunday and week ahead! 😘

      Thanks Mimi! Do you stick to mineral sunscreens when swimming then? I have to say - it isn't normal for me, but maybe this one ran more easily into my eyes? Can't say for sure...

    First, thank you for using obfuscate. Second, I agree that exfoliating is important. Unfortunately for me, my face LOATHES AHAs (glycolic acid is literal hellfire), and after enough time, even "gentle" acids like mandelic and PHAs as well. Especially when I've got retinol on board (which, duh). So I've had to pivot to much gentler methods like enzymes, sugar cane, protease, and soothing toners in gentle pad form for a little physical assistance. Wanted to mention those in case other people have skin like mine that is making them think about giving up on exfoliation entirely. On a peptide note, I recently started Peach & Lily's Pro Peptide Firming Moisturizer and it's going really well so far. One question about CAIL: how long does a tube last you? It's one of the more expensive products that I've been considering, as I've heard it can help with the fullness of the face (i.e., fad pad loss). And what's your CAIL/retinol rotation like? Thank you!

      Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! While it can be frustrating to not use stronger acids, it sounds like you have found the right balance. Prioritizing retinoids are always a good thing too ;)
      I use CAIL pretty much every other night I am not using a retinol or an acid - so works out to 3 times a week, sometimes more - sometimes less if my skin is having a major issue - then I scale back to the VERY basics. A tube lasts several months this way, and a little goes a long way. You only need a very small amount (with its oily texture) for the face. I am rather cheap - so I use The Ordinary's copper peptide serum for my neck/chest, and prioritize CAIL for my face. But - if I hit the lottery...
      😅

      @@ChristaEvelyn Thank you for responding! I was wondering if I could get results with CAIL at around 3 times a week, and from your experience, it sounds like the answer is yes!

    Just tried the Vichy 89 again. Now I remember why I stopped using it. All my sunscreens pill like crazy over it. When do you use it in your routine?

    • @ChristaEvelyn
      @ChristaEvelyn  Рік тому +1

      Oh really? Are you using a moisturizer then a sunscreen? HA does have the propensity to pill, I make sure my other products dry down, then mist my face and use it in the AM - in the PM I use it no problems of course :)

    Great video, I've got lots of samples of the Vichy, I forget about them, but I'll try them. Also, this is not beauty related...well kind of. I've always ironed clothes. Do steamers work better? or do you know, I've heard they are far easier to use. If you use them, would you recommend a brand? I'm slow to the game...

    • @ChristaEvelyn

      I work from home, so am very often wrinkled 🤣 When I need a steamer I usually hang my clothes on the back of a door, and use the steam setting on my iron. So - I am not much help to you I am afraid... but maybe someone else will comment!

    Hi wonderful and clear detailed information thanks so much!! 🥰...I have a question ....I want to use the Naturium retinaldehyde and years ago I used Avene and made my faint crows feet a lot worse and deepened the lines for some reason and I used La Mer cream on top of it to be sure I was well moisturized. Had been using La Mer for many years with great results. My crows feet never have gotten much better and I use all kinds of products they are a little better only . Should I use the Naturium at crows feet area or just use peptides and aha and HA products at crows feet do you think ? Thank you !

      It's hard for me to say, because for me - most retinoids for the face - I can't tolerate around my eyes. I normally have to use retinoid products that are specifically formulated for eye use, otherwise my eyes go bright red :(
      I have been using Beauty of Joseon's retinaldehyde eye cream lately - and have been loving it!
      I am surprised that the Avene retinal did that for you - I love that one too, and had really good results from it. Of course.... everyone's experience with products is different. Not sure if I helped you at all though - lol
