    I happened to notice this today after doing a self rescue and seeing how frayed my safety line was, I ended my session. Thanks for your PSA

    Hi. I kite my Click (2022) several times and so far my lanyard looks good. However, another problem arose, namely that this paste black tape gets twisted and blocks the bar from being pulled towards itself! My bar crashed a few times. My bar was literally on the water several times! Do you know what's wrong with him?

    Thanks for the video! Unfortunately the click bar has similar issues with the leader lines inside the bar, so you have to check them, too.

      Definitely! But how are u supposed to check the leader lines inside the bar?! HAd a real bad crash when one of the inner lines in the clickbar ripped during a big loop. Really lucky to be alive! Duotone sometimes is nice about it and replaces it. But it is quite a process. I hate and love that bar. Built quality and Price are too far apart imho

    I bought a 2022 2 Monthes ago and used it for a total of around 10 hours, I discovered the safety line is almost cutted off at the jonction of the little ball holding the piece of metal where you attach the leash. Definitely there is something wrong with this Duotone material, In 15 days I'll be back from trip and will complain to the shop, let see if Duotone acknowledge the problem ! I spent a good money in this bar thinking it would be a game changer, but I'm quite disappointed.

    Great video, its a pity I didnt watch it the day before, where my safety line broke on a foil session

    excellent video... even with its flaws i love the click bar. Why not put a plastic sleeve to protect the safety line where it's chafing? Safety line is the biggest problem for clickbars. Its always just a matter of time before it snaps

      That I do not know but I've found that pulling the line out and rubbing it thoroughly is helping with the bar at the moment. It definitely has some solid qualities I appreciate but also several points of maintenance.
      All in all I think it is a good step in kiting innovation and will only get better with time as all things!

    Today I had a problem with the click bar, the line was left as if it had rotated after making some transitions, and I had to remove it to be able to run the line and move the kite, do you know why it is? thank you

    Word from Duotone was that you need to pull the safety line out and rinse it after every session. This being a two month old bar they still said not a warranty thing but they'd give me a new safety line as a goodwill replacement.

    • @PopGoesTheWorld2023

      But my are lines are wrapped around the bar when I get home and want to rinse the bar in fresh water? So I have to unfold the lines when I get home from the beach to be able to pull out the safety line and rinse it? I really regret getting the Click Bar instead of the Trust Bar. Change my mind :-)

    • @saltymike6647
      @saltymike6647  3 роки тому

      @@PopGoesTheWorld2023 ha I really agree with you there that the trust bar is a better option and that not all of us can unravel and rinse after every session. I kinda advocate the trust bar in general if you're riding Duotone now days.

    Also sorry all I don't know how to take the adds off. So I'll have to work through that, my apologies.

    Sorry for the newbie question, can someone tell my what will happen if it tear? and is it only relevant when you do the quick release?

    • @AB-sw2dd
      @AB-sw2dd 2 роки тому

      It can snap. When not released it functions as power line

    2 months?! That’s so unacceptable. I was just gonna buy one of these because I’m yearning for a auto-svivel bar 😓

    I just had my first safety line failure (in the same location). I have two of these bars, in fact I had one previously, a 2018 model I think but that got lost :(. Anyway I kite pretty much every weekend and hammer my gear, but I *always* flush the bars ends and more importantly I always get a hose and shove that down the top end of the PU sleeve, and watch for water emerging from the swivel joint. I think this is why I have much better life out of my safety lines - so I recommend folks do the same. Fabulous bars, but need a bit of TLC.

    I think his exact words you don't want this happening in heavy surf. Our biggest day of the year, side-off wind, and SNAP - there goes my kite twirling violently in the air before crashing. Didn't know what broke, so after minute of getting dragged I quick-released and my kite took off into blue. Only then did i realize my safety line snapped, rendering leash pointless. Long swim, found my kite later. Not cool.

      same experience! once only the safety ripped beneath the bar, the other time one inner leader line snapped and then the steering line did too... of course it is always the SINGLE frontline safety line. I liked the 5th line better back in the days even though there are obvioisu disadvantages. But always safe, better flag out, never ripped.

      @@martinbenda3786 sure! So pulling the safety line out and washing with fresh water after every session, and I mean every session helps immensely, also storing it a bit slack and loosening the part that rotates with the tool I mentioned seems to help as well. I took to pulling the safety line out around 8 inches (20cm) when wrapping the lines to easily inspect and access for maintenance. If you do these things seems to keep for a lot longer :).

      It seems a really good fix is to make sure you're flushing regularly and pull your safety line out that little bit when you store/wrap up your bar. I've been working with a friend who has one and this has really helped :)

    Thanks for making this. What a shitty design flaw. Your life literally depends on this gear only to find out you're in major danger 2 months into a new bar. These should all be recalled, discontinued, redesigned, and tested until they're proven to last like most other kite bars. I'd hate to be at a friends early funeral because of this shit

    just self-adhesive heat shrink tubing 3.5 to 1.6 mm and it lasts forever
