Hey Tom, great video thanks! I tried to use the click bar today with a 2010 12m Rebel. I installed the 5th line kit and set the V distributor to the furthest setting. The kite felt like it had no power and wanted to fall out the sky. The front lines seemed tight in comparison to the rear lines. Any idea on what is going on here? Are these bar and lines compatible with such an old kite? Cheers!
Hey thanks for the video.. It's strange thing that Duotone doesn't show which v-split setting is the best for your kite. Looks like you are saying that the best setting for the NEO is the high v-split setting?
Hi Tom, do I have to move the little black ball (that is secured with a grub screw and can be loosen and tighten with a fin key) if I move to V Distributor II forward towards the kite? You don't mention anything about that in the video and the clickbar manual neither. Thanks for you respone in advance! I appreciate it a lot! Cheers from Switzerland! By the way what's the name of that ball and what's its purpose?
its called the V-distrubutor and it changes how the front of the kite it pinched by the geometry of the front lines. The higher (towards the kite) it is, the more pinched the front of the kite, the lower the more open ( typical more slack and more bar pressure)
Tom, Just got a 2020 Rebel 10m little confused about the V distributor with the 4 line set up Do I remove it completely or what's the best position for it?? Cheers. Med click bar on 24m lines. And what would you suggest for the 14m??
you can just leave the V-distributor where it is or experiment with it for your own personal preference. The kite will work wherever you put it but it mill change the flight characteristics. For the Rebel it is usually better to have it higher than take it off completely... that is more an option for the vegas etc...
Mine cracked and broke off 2 weeks ago , so i removed it completely, i been flying 12m rebel, does not seem to be an issue and the kite flies as good as if not better... more concerned with getting the right line lenths on the front lines? adjusting power settings is totally different from the old style bars , can't figure out what max power setting is for because it basically over-stalls the kite? You can still fly it but if you jump there's no way it will make it back around to catch the landing... Don't understand what is the point of this setting ??? Or do i have my bar set wrong? I fly without extensions and pig tails out of the factory , maybe i need to adjust where i put them on the kite???
Hi! I just bought the click bar. But when I check the lines right out of the pack, I notice that the steering lines are about 30 cm longer than the center lines. Is this correct? On my older North bars, the 4 lines are exactly the same length. Appreciate an answer, it's gonna be windy here tomorrow and I don't want to figure out this in high winds.
The bars and line legths have changes a little, but they should not be 30cm different, that is too much. Are you sure nothing was caught up? And the bar was full powered up? It sounds like it was fully de-powered to me...?
@@tomcourtkite The bar was on full power, checked my friends Click bar, he's was exactly the same. Can it be possible they made it this way du to the reversed depower system? (Depowering on the steering lines) strange that they don't pinpoint this in the manual. Anyway, tried it on my 9m neo from 2018, and it handled well. Except, I thought I could experience some lack of power.
@@mikkelm.5898 I know there is a period (pre-2018) where there is a different setting on the kites for the line lengths, so it has been adjusted to calibrate to the new kites I think... I will find out more about it for you and come back with info
Thanks for the video! I thought the 4 different pigtails were to adjust to the rider's arms' length? I'm short armed, and with factory length pigtails I just can't reach the bar when fully depowered, so I use the longer pigtail to be able to grab the bar more easily as it lengthen the rear lines. Do you confirm that we can use pigtails to adjust to rider's arms' length or am I doing something dangerous/not recommended? I see nothing about that in the bar's manual. Thanks!
no pigtails are nothing to do with arm length, they directly effect the way the kite flys. So leave the pigtails. If you want to adjust the de-power throw so that you can reach the bar when de-power you use the centre line adjuster... this doesn't effect the way the kite rides!
Had a 40kt session with totaly new equipment 7m 2021 rebel and s click bar 2021 but kite backstalls like crazy..i checked the lines and find out that center lines are longer. Never had problems with previous models before but i always use trust bar..should i just put longer pigtails? Its weird that brand new kite directly from the bag doesnt work. And 9m and m click bar 2021 works fine without these kind of problems.
I think there's a mistake in this video. At the end you say that you can apply the pigtails if you "run out of adjustment on the bar". But actually, clickbar doesn't have any line adjustment on the bar, isn't it? (you can just stretch them)
@@tomcourtkite gotcha. U didn’t go over it in the video did u? The clicking aspect? Or I just missed it I guess. Do u use the right hand side of the bar to click the thing and it depowers?
@@tomcourtkite awesome thanks man. I'm sure ill figure it out from this now but a video on this would be great I think! a lot of people don't know this which makes them hesitant to use the click bar. I only found one video on it and it wasn't duotone

yea high v-split for kites with bridals... 👍
Maybe I missed this but is there a video perhaps on how to set up the 5th line on the click bar?
What position should the V-split be flying a 2023 EVO with the 2-meter extensions removed?
the kite will work with it on any position, but you should leave it on the standard v-split setting for that I recon!
If you remove the v-split, how far is the new v from the rider? Is it right down at the trim? Cheers
Yes ok the clock bar it come right down to the top of the plastic center line that goes through the bar!
Are you able to do a video for the 5th line setting on a vegas?? Would be amazing to know how all of the pros are riding it.
Jendric Burkhardt yes I can do this! :)
Thanks bro see you on the water🤙🏼
I removed the v distributor and the Vegas flies much better. Still not sure though. It would be great if Tom could chip in?
tom court could you give some guidance om this?:) What works best on the Vegas? I have it on 2m from the bar now. Thanks:):)

Hi why totally remove the v on the set up
there is no need, its just personal preference!
If you want to use Duotone bar for other brands of kites were standard V setup is used and no V distributor at all.
I don’t get how the de power system works ??
It winds the back lines up inside the bar
