    Great job! Great review!
I just want to add the following.
I'm 6"25 and I fit ok in the back.
The gearbox is great, actually better than some dual clutch systems because it's a ZF8HP, the best single clutch in the market. It's compact, light and quick.
This model is possibly the most powerfull 2.0l in this SUV category and the quickest one. Even the X3 and Q5 with electric help are slower than this one.
Another reason for that, it's because of car is full of lightweight solutions like the carbon fiber transmission shaft and the aluminum body, engine and suspension.

My stepbrother rented a After Romeo Stelvio, and it looked exactly like this spec! My one friend's parents also bought a Stelvio. This SUV is really starting to become popular!
    Great video James!

My 2022 Stelvio Veloce, drives great, tech sux, seat belt warning charm is outrageously loud and intrusive (yes I wear a sealtbelt) . When you lock the car, it beeps to confirm locked and unlocked and you can't turn it off, which is stupid. Fuel consumption is completely unacceptable. I'm getting 12 litres per 100kms (I'm in Australia) which is 19mpg!! It nearly uses as much fuel as my V8 Cayenne GTS. Nuts! I bought this car coming out of a 2020 G20 BMW 330i msport. I bought the Alfa primarily as it's unique (you hardly see any), it has amazing steering and cornering and last but not least it's an older platform which means it has real buttons, no haptic sliders, no touch panels, no integrated a/c. So it's a drivers car, it really is. They can't even claim to compete with German rivals, or Korean ones for that matter. If you like tech and gadgets (although the radar cruise works well) look elsewhere.
    The Alfa has,
    1. No 360 Cameras and the camera it has is awful, like one you would find on a flip phone.
    2. No wireless Apple Carplay
    3. No Alfa Romeo App, no smart entry options etc
    3. No ambient lighting
    4. No rear a/c controls
    5. Rear doors aren't connected to the keyless entry system
    6. No adaptive suspension
    7. No self parking or back up assistant
    8. No laser or LED headlights
I understand they will introduce a face lift next year which may include some of these features, personally I just want a car that driving is it's core function and for driving, it's hard to beat.

I’m on my third one since 2018. I drive a ton cross-country & they have been flawless. One issue with the 2018’s oil cooler gasket, but the dealership was great. Out of warranty came to $1400. So happy. Considered the QV, but it’s had too many issues. May get the Levante Trofeo. I’m older and need to be cushy more. Very reliable, as well.

I own a 2019 Stelvio and still love it. It has been very reliable. Turbo lag is definitely noticeable but I don’t mind it. The Stelvio is definitely more distinctive than the BMW, VW or Honda that I previously drove.

Great review and spot on. I have the 2020 Stelvio and what you say here holds for mine too. I would only disagree with the continued need for paddle shifters. No one uses them, and they only get in the way. If you want to shift, buy a manual. As well, and this goes for all car makers, get rid the the Stop/Start functionality that you cannot permanently disable.

    • @miks564
      @miks564 2 роки тому +2

Of course I respect your opinion, but I believe you're mistaken about the paddle shifters.
I believe most people go for the Stelvio because of its unique sporty driving style. This crossover drives better than many sedans. It has a very direct steering (more direct than a 911). near perfect 50/50% weight distribution and many other important details that help to the dynamic efficiency of this car.
Shifting manually using the big aluminum paddle shifters is a big part of the fun when we're enjoying the driving pleasure of this vehicle. The kick from the gearbox while in Dynamic driving mode never gets old.
Having a ZF8 gearbox with paddle shifters allow any driver to get the best of both worlds: We can forget about the gears and ride in comfort or, take back the control and enjoy driving in total control of the machine.
The Stelvio might be a competent SUV for those just wanting the looks and practicality, (the base and luxury versions even had the paddle shifters only as an extra) but the Stelvio is still first and foremost, a 'drivers' SUV.
I believe most people wanting it just for the looks, usually end up with the usual competitors in the segment like the X3, GLC or Q5 from Germany. Those who go for the Stelvio, are usually looking for a superior driving and dynamic experience.

Sorry Al...I have to disagree big time.....You may not use them but having them and using them transforms this car....I have a 2020 Stelvio Ti Sport in this same color scheme with paddles ....Actually, the 2020 is nicer because there is more contrasting red in the car's interior...door card inserts are red and lower dash is red as is the center console ....there is too much black in the "Veloce" trim ....I do like that the leather dash top and leather door tops are standard, but my 2020 Red interior looks way better than this one.....

I've also seen questions of reliability, the secret here is....New car buyers don't really care, some do, but these cars have a 5 year warranty, so...But to be fair I wouldn't say it will be much better or worse than all the cars i've owned in the last 4 years, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW. If you need reliability, buy an Asian vehicle.

Simplistic is a pejorative term meaning over simplified ie usually a bad solution. You could say more simple but the best would be simply, it's simpler.
