The soft brake is because it's a fly-by-wire system (from Continental). That means it's more the pedal position and not the pressure applied that determines how strong it will break. It gets a bit to get used to it.
Possibly what makes this SUV more different from its competitors is the attention given to its dynamics. It inherits the Giulia platform called Giorgio. A platform designed (by an ex-Ferrari team) for RWDs with a 50 / 50 weight distribution having the engine mounted behind the front axle. It features aluminum in most of the body panels. It has very fine tuned full aluminum patented suspension and a full aluminum engine. ...It even has a carbon fiber driveshaft standard on all models, all for weight reduction. ...all this combined with a very direct steering (even more than on a 911 for example), make this car unbelievably efficient, fun and pleasant to drive. Believe me, despite being a SUV, it drives better than most regular cars. This dynamic behavior makes it incredibly exciting to drive in D mode with a very fast gearbox reaction to go with it. Luckily (for my wallet), most of the time, I love driving it slowly, enjoying a calm, comfy silent ride also to further delay the arriving time, extending the time on board. 😎 ...talk about taking the long way home. This car is a jewel and offers us the best of two worlds we only have to choose which is going to be! Mine has more than one year already and the pleasure is all there every single day.
Very nice to hear someone who understand the appeal of Alfas reviewing the car. It isn't about how the details compare with competitors, it is about how you feel about the car, about its looks and the feel when you drive it; mostly about whether it givers you that "smile". Great review; thanks you 🙂
I just got the 2018 used. It's still in good condition, honestly the engine sounds wonderful, it makes you want to turn the volume down. I've had it less than a week and there are definitely some thoughtless things. My coffee and water bottles block the AC controls, there is no convenient place to set stuff and no storage in the center console. Having rails is great in the trunk, but I'm struggling to find a mat that allows them to be used without removing the hooks. Not being able to set the key or garage door opener near the center console in an open spot is honestly the only annoyance that really bothers me. Still, such a great ride
Very good and watchable review. Just one query is the 5-3-5 package still offered? I thought that had finished now and reverted to a 3 year warranty? I bought my Stelvio as an ex demo in November and it only had the balance of 3 years warranty. Could be that the 5-3-5 is not valid on Dealer pre-owned cars but I guess the big discount on new prices is the payoff? From my point of view having all the bells and whistles, which mine has, is a big plus although I haven’t used the self drive yet. Blind spot monitor I absolutely love though. Took me a while to get used to the size though, coming from a 159 this feels a much bigger car. You are spot on in your review though, this is 100% a real Alfa with soul. Alfa number 14 for me
Also worth mentioning that the bi-xenon are directional. They point the corners according to speed and the amount of steering.... Yeah, they should be LED already. ...but the light quality of both the Stelvio and the Giulia is top.
Good review, the only thing he didn't get right is that the back seat is 40-20-40 so you can get your skis (or in my case a snowboard) through the middle part and still have 2 rear seats.
Misano Blue. Misano is a seaside town on the Adriatic Sea famous also for its racing track. The correct pronunciation is the 2nd one you say in the video :)
So, we have a Land Rover where the computer manual would have been useless. There is a fuse that goes out and it controls the infotainment, luckily we had the physical manual with us
@@AJThePlayerUA-camChannel A bit late mate, deposit down on a 20 plate and pick it up on Thursday on the way home from work in the North Sea. Not even seen one in the flesh so I reckon this will be the hottest blind date I've ever been on...lol....From what I have seen the Italians have nailed the style, especially compared to the new Macan with the haptic display. Out of interest, do you know how much adjustment/ movement is available on the side bolsters on the sports seat in the AM?
I'm surprised that car hadn't a ski rack or whatever name it has. ...because at least some models have a small pullstring on top, near the center seat head rest, you pull it and there you have it.
I’m wondering that too, from what people say it’s been reliable. Even a study found that Alfa was one of the most reliable in the premium sector, I’m getting mine later this year so we’ll find out
Like your personality and a Good review, but has this footage been through a VHS filter or something, the picture and sound is terrible had to check it was on HD, hope you can get a new camera soon. Subbed though thanks.
I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage.
Bad maintaining, that error can also be trigerd by lor battery but that meand lame maintaining and check up Also for QV dont play in Race mode If you dono what to do easy way to total your car Drive responsabil and goodluck
This guy is not an ex-Giulia lover has he said. A disappointed person with a 'lemon' may make one or two comments but then it will move on in search of a future vehicle. This guy kept looking for Alfa Romeo videos and kept copy paste this stuff on many of them. To me, this is a payed job.
@@miks564 I was an alfa consumer, but never have I been a "lover" of any particular car brand. That's why I can sincerely say that alfa romeo is a shat brand and so is the giulia. From my experience alfa romeo, in general, produces lemons as a whole. Also, someone who goes through a life or death situation because a brand terribly engineered their vehicles is a reason in itself to constantly tell people how terrible a brand really is.
Just bought a Alfa Romeo Stevio vol only had it 3 weeks its been in the garage twice never ever again will I buy an Alfa customer service is absolutely rubbish had to wait 9 hours for Alfa road side assistance to come never ever again rubbish rubbish!!!!!!! in the process of executing my rights to get my money back under the 30 day rule consumer rights act
how did you get on? You know, Alfa roadside is going to be a local garage type thing? 9 hours seems like a hell of a wait though, i hope you weren't far from home.
Thanks for your comment. Alfa has the DNA selection and the A stands for Advanced Efficiency which is the equivalent of Economy not as in other channels whos reviewers obviously didn’t do their homework properly

Love the review! I've been looking for that red Alfa keyring, but seems no one has one. :(
Thanks for the comment sorry can’t help with key ring🧐
@@AJThePlayerUA-camChannel it’s ok found one on eBay :) I also bought a stelvio, azure blue with yellow callipers to go with my new keyring

Thanks very much for the comment
The center seat section folds flat in the back. 60-40-20...
Thanks for the comment
Great review, with stacks of enthusiasm.......I would be interested to how this compares against the Porsche Macan GTS
Thanks for the comment appreciated. You would have to test drive both for a couple of days to make your mind up on that it’s a close one

DIESEL RELIABLE , LOVELY NM ,FUEL ECONOMY TOO.
Lovely car
Printed manual with a new vehicle is probably The Law in some places.
Good comment Thankyou
❤ Alfa Romeo 🇮🇹 👍
Agreed
This review has been recorder with a calculator?
😂🤣
Looks nice, wonder about the wear, Alfa not known for that

BMW WHO ?
PORSCHE WHO ?
MERC WHO ?
Why video is so pixalated!!!
You didn’t mention the cabin sound proof quality or should we say road noise reduction level inside the cabin 😉
Good comment thanks
Italians never were focused on sound proof-noise reduction on eny car they have made

No. It's not. Advanced Efficiency is correct.
This is what happens when the USA journalists don't do their homework and make up their own crap.
