- Ever wondered what it was like for the Beatles to cross Abbey Rd back in 1969. Here is the full story of that day, you can experience crossing the road on the historic crossing. Find the location of the mysterious back cover photo. A world exclusive story never told to the world is revealed here completely dispelling one of the most well known stories surrounding the photo shoot of this classic album cover.
A wonderful historical journey, very well researched and enjoyable to watch. Thankyou.
Having been there and actually walked the crosswalk as well as being inside Abbey Road studios back in 2018, I can't understand why the motorists become annoyed with the tourists? That tourism money not only pays for their healthcare, but certainly there are alternate routes for those "irate motorists to go. It's not like the locals are unaware of that location's significance to THE WORLD!
Very nicely done video! I enjoyed this very much!
Thanks for watching
Fantastic , better than any documentary . Keep up the good work and keep it coming!!!!
Very well done! Love the interaction with Lennon story! I have a luggage tag from the gift shop from my son!
Very interesting video. Thanks Andrew.
Well done Andrew- Really imformative and entertaining. Ive been there for the 40th and 50th anniversaries. The 60th is looming far too quickly :)
Great video Andrew. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done.
Great video Andrew...well done!
Really enjoyed this, Andy. Great research and editing, and lovely to see so much of Abbey Road at the 'right time' of year, with all the green trees!
Thanks Dave it was great fun filming "on location"
Amazing time I had watching this. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it
A facinating video thanks so mucn, I've learnt things I didn't know.
And PC Peter Binnie is my grandad who passed away just over a year ago, Joe is my uncle
Wow, pleased to meet you. I hope I did your grandad justice with my piece about him.
Great video!! What a blast, and I learned a lot!! Thank you Andrew. 😊 I never realized the words The Beatles weren’t on the album. Just goes to show how iconic the album is. I was shocked to see that the wall was torn down though, I had always hoped it would have been preserved as a historical landmark. 😢
Thanks for taking the time to shoot the video on location. Is it close to where you live?
No I live out East of London. St John's Wood is in NW London. But it's always fun to visit. I am always in London so if I'm nearby I pop in.
Andrew great video. As always
A slight correction
You said Paul's house is 10mins away.
7 Cavendish Avenue.
You practically passed his road on the way from the Station.
Any idea how they were able to spell out ‘Beatles’ on the Abbey Road back cover using the street letters? (It’s pretty legit with the crack running through the ‘s’)
I think they had a pretty good art and design depth who could do those things. Obviously these days it would be easy with photo shop.
Hi again.
Forgot to tell you
When the album came out.
I got a 2 year suspended sentence
For attempting to steal a road sign ha ha
I was always told that Ringo was the Undertaker
One little piece of trivia you overlooked was about 5-10 years ago 4 of the actual tiles that spelt out “Abbey Road” were sold at auction , I think from memory one of them got broken as they were salvaged ?
Again from memory , it was a girl fan that stepped in and pulled them out of the rubble as the wall was demolished.
The recovered letters were ABEY …..if you search on Google for the words “Abbey Road Tiles Auction” it brings up the story
I did see that, I suspect they may have come from the one demolished in the 90s but who knows.
@@AndrewBrooks …indeed you may well be right , in fact any street that once used those tile style to spell out their name could be reappropriated as coming from ye olde Abbey Road.
If I were a hobbyist I think there’s a good little tickle to made in knocking out repros for the market , they would look “good” (???) built into a new inglenook fireplace in the depths of Guildford
