Hey brother, to help mitigate the heat issue, you could set up ducting tubes from the asic exhaust to a high cfm inline fan commonly used in hydroponics. If the cfm is high enough, you can use three or four of your Asic units hooked into one inline fan. The ducting tubes are commonly made out of aluminum, so they can take the heat, and then you would route the exhaust from the inline fan out your window
It would also help a lot to put corrugated soundproofing foam sheets on the entire wall of all walls that have a room to the house on the adjacent side. Also put some sort of draft stopper on the door to the room. Growing inside a four bedroom house, one room was completely dedicated to growing with a lot more noise than this, and we could not hear anything inside the home and the heat generated from the grow lights exhausted outside and didn't affect the rest of the house. It can be done.
That’s exactly what my solution was, found a cheap inline duct fan from Amazon and works like a dream. Recently moved my rigs beside furnace. Have a small vent from the one of the main ducts running down to my rigs and in-line vent back to the return side. That cold A/C my temps are mind 40’s. My only concern is if those rig shut down and goes cold fast, I’ve seen a bricked hardware from rapid temp shifts. Mining life problems. Constant maintenance, stressing, overthinking, all time consuming, and I love all of it lol.

Instead of heating up the whole basement with the ASIC you can get some inexpensive flexible HVAC ducts at a home store which can connect right to where the heat is coming out of the ASIC and run it across the ceiling to the main exhaust fan. That should keep your temps down a bit.
I suggest putting the ASIC closer to the floor, naturally cooler.
Yeah but the heat would spread more in the room, this way the fan on the window takes the hot air out.
Floor with a venting duct connected, if you have the space you could set up a duct box to connect to and place an exhaust fan on the exhaust out side.
living in europe as a miner is good an bad. high rates, but you get 240v as standard and 400V aswell

Exactly, I have almost 13cents per kwh which hurts. But then again even in a small flat I have 240v with 3x25A for wall sockets, so I have plenty power to spend.

Not all miners are that loud. I’m running 10 l3+ at stock freq and undervolted to 1. I force the fans at 1800 rpm. They literally make less noise than my GPUs and I still get 504 out of them. Penda, plug that l3+ back in, good times right now for Skrypt👍👍👍
asic hash boards produce so much heat.much more then gpu.thats why big farms use oil cooling.its so nice to life in eu we got 220

IMO an Asic depreciates much faster than a GPU and at the end of the day an Asic can do only 1 task while a GPU can do many.
You should checkout the company that offering cooling system for those kind ASIC mining Rigs (BeeMiner) also its coming with it own power supply .. it was a really big help solution for me ..

@@lorenm4015 I have seen two of my Antminer L3+ become worthless last year, now it is profitable to mine. Check ebay for used prices to see for yourself what they are selling for now. They are in hot demand.
Most bitmain antminer up to the s9 can run on 110v, so you can run on regular residential.

I bought one because right now, paying the same amount I paid for my S9j would produce less money to the GPU equivalent with current price trends. I'll make just over $3/day but I paid about $500 for it which would only get you a RX 580 8gb right now because of scalping, which would only give me $1/day. So with my current profits including the ASIC, I'll make the money back in 30 days. The ASIC should be profitable until August 18th, 2022 before electricity starts costing more than it makes (with current Btc price). The ASIC can run on a normal 120v outlet and the power is around 1500watts. Plus I've always wanted an ASIC, always been intrigued by them.
Got a Mining Box 8 myself. Changed the Fans to Noctua high RPM fans as the Delta fans were too loud for my usecase. Currently mining with 7x 3060 in the basement really nice and quiet.
Try mineral oil cooling for the asic. Would be a good video

One very very important thing that wasnt touched is insurance. If there is a fire ( even of not caused by the asics ) if your not well insured youll be paying mortgage on a burned down house lol. My insurance company told me that they void my insurance if I go forward. Ive talked with a broker that uses 25 different insurance company and he told me none would insure me. Im now looking at the specialized insurance but where talking 1000$ a month. Thats a not negligible amount. Ive seen people here on YT with setup that generates 1500$ a month thats two third of the profit just to insure the setup and imagine you burn down a neighbors house also ? Insurance is a big deal and they got us by the balls. Would like to hear you opinion about that Panda. Great content keep it up.
What has happened is all the SHA-256 miners that were $50 used up until 2 months ago (for 3 years up until then) all have skyrocketed in price. The ones who were collecting then while they were $50, are now making out big.
The lower the temperature of the air inlet, the slower the fan speed, it is best to connect a pipe to the air outlet to the outdoors
I’m down both paths, 12 litecoin miners and 15 gpus(want more gpus). I appreciate the multi streams of mining. The heat was more of an issue, firmware helped with the fans. Once I got that figured out it’s been going good. But yea the power draw is rough...just can’t get lucky for retail gpus..
The problem is that we have no choice. Eth will switch to POS sooner rather than later and we will all be mining Bitcoin. I myself am mining eth using a small rig but I am building an immersive BTC mining rig for the future.
That’s the big downfall of ASICS they are power hungry monsters. I have two in my own room and yes they are extremely hot. But thank you for the plugs I need for future. Great content sir

Have you thought about putting some acoustic foam in your mining room? That'll help to keep the noise from bleeding out to the rest of the house.
I’m thinking of getting an ASIC… main reason being that it’s difficult to get GPUs and they are super expensive
The same dollars that you spend could be used to buy scalped GPUs and you would gain more in BTC using Nicehash than getting an ASIC while using less power and making less noise.
If you have more than one air-conditioning vent in the room Consolidate all your ASICS onto one shelf preferably lower to the ground(cold air sinks and heat rises). Next put some sort of insulation or aluminum shielding around the shelf containing the asics thus blocking their heat from other nearby gpus. Then get some flex duct from the closest AC vent and angle it over the ASICS. From the exhaust sides of the ASICS have flex duct leading to the exhaust fan in the window. Further, insulating the flex ducts themselves may also cut down on heat and a little bit of noise.
Try looking for immersion cooling systems that are available for a few hundred dollars for one or two asics. This solves the problem with the heat and the noise. The good thing is 30% less electricity costs and up to 50% hashrate increase possible that is crazy.
this has always puzzled me with ASICS, why.... on gods green earth are they not fitted with a decent 4" fan and ducting? the noise will go down 90% and cooling will be much better. it beggers belief the fans that are fitted to them, and blows me mind that no one removes the stupid underpowered fans and replace them with a proper cooling solution......... just a few thoughts........ 6" grow room fan with a 6" to 4" reducer at the ASIC to increase the flow speed, and ducting off the otherside to vent direct to atmosphere and well away from the other miners..........
ASIC mining at home does suck, it is noisy and hot. I've started by venting mine into the roof space to try and avoid air recirculating around. If I was to do it again I would go GPU. I have the machine now so will keep it running for now. I'm also considering immersion cooling for it.
Would be OK in the UK as our plug sockets are rated at 240v 13amps,so will do 3000w OK.
You would be pushing it couldn't have anything else on the circuit if you were running one of these.

Nope, remember the 80% rule so 2400w safely, they can go to 3000w but I wouldn’t want to run that all the time
In the uk where I live we have 240v wall plugs as standard which is about 2990w (that’s what google said lol) so technically could I run one on my wall plugs I wouldn’t do it because of how loud it is but I think it would be possible
This isn't a problem out of the US. Mainly, all home outlets are 240v and socket breaker can withstand 50amp

There's 2 ways to make money with Bitcoin. The first is trading Bitcoin stocks on the stock market and the second way is to buy and sell the Bitcoin itself. Mining Bitcoin with an ASIC miner at home is just too expensive and you also have to deal with the "silicone lottery" too. Mining Bitcoin is strictly for the commercial mining farms now.

The PSU that I have ordered from China is about 3600 rpm from 14CM fan, that 1 is already to noisy for my taste and server PSU + ASICs are complete anti kreygasm for me. Dont think I could even put that in the kitchen as of now, would reach both rooms of a 2 bedroom apartment.

You need ~160 CFM of exhaust airflow per kwh of usage. That Whatsminer ALONE needs over 500 CFM.

6" ducting goes right around 120mm PC fans. Vent that asic right out the window.
Would it be worth it to add a duct that exhausts from the back of your ASIC to the window directly? That way none of that heat enters the room.
I thought ASIC miners were more efficient per dollar spent. It appears to me that after buying the Antminer L3+, a gtx 3080ti for $2k would help me break even quicker.
I have the same TrippLite PDU with the digital meters. I actually have no problem running 14 amp 24/7. I have been actually running them like that for years with no issues. If you want you can put it back on normal :)
Plus the price of those miners is insane...can get a whole scalped price 3080 rig.
You can use 160w silencer.cut the fan wings off and blow it.but blow wind is very heavy

What happened to your L3+ ? I have one of those at home and basically all three of those negatives (heat, power, noise) can be removed if you update the firmware (to Blissz or Hive) so you can undervolt (reduces heat and power) and also reduce the noise by reducing the fan speed. They still do use a considerable amount of power, but its manageable.

The ASIC desing is made for you put a ton of this side by side and route the air in the front qnd rear direct to siberia. Is complicated to have at home indeed.

Yea you can't/don't want to go above 1500 watts for a single standard U.S. 110v outlet.
Learned my lesson about mining in 2014. Will never mine for BTC ever again. It is an absolute waste of time, money and electricity.
Take the money you would have spent on the miner(s) and just BUY BTC!
ASIC or GPU mining... they both pain in the A55** when things goes wrong its stressful process to figure out if its the GPU risers or riser cables or psu and list goes on!! I had 3 ASIC and glad i sold it they were too loud and eating up power like crazy!

I had ONE BTC miner and it caused me to have the windows to my apartment open 24/7 through winter. It was ridiculous. Temps in my apartment were often over 100 degrees in January.
I can't imagine the hellish temperatures your mining room must have in it every day. That one big fane will NOT exhaust the heat that setup will generate.
This needs an air cooled outside shed powered by a separate 100 or 200 amps panel. I have both but no asics 😂.
If you wanna OC those ASIC you have , try to get a better Cooling system with less KWatt of usage though out (BeeMiner company) , im using 4× S19 Pro with the capacity usage is 3,15KWatt/H and the profit is 115 TH/s ..

Panda why not just drop those ASIC’s in some mineral oil or some other non conducive liquid??? They would be much quieter and run cooler as well. Plus u could run them at a higher setting.

antminer s9 ~1250w 12-13TH perfect for winter months heating your parrents 2-3 rooms depending on the outside temp maybe some window open if high temp outside ~10% fan speed under 70C on the boards sound like normal blower heater , convert back all that it spend on energy in BTC with some surplus over it depending on the price of BTC for the day , and its cheap and simple no need of PC expensive cards or whatever, simple ,depending on the soft you install you dont need to keep an eye on it whatsoever ,noobfriendly ~3 month RoR if bought second hand for cheap XD
U wrong. U need a 240v outlet with decent size plug Guage. U do not need a dryer plug.

With what you have I'm surprised you don't have a wall built that the miners blow hot into and live in the cold side. The wall/room hot side is insulated and exhausted to outside. Just at at huge farms to see what I mean

I am interested in trying to build a GPU miner to mine alt coins for financial gain. But I am very inexperienced in any sort of miner or even PC builds...I have never done any thing like it before. I have watched Red Panda videos and other youtube content to try and improve my understanding of the tech. Do people really believe that watching a load of youtube videos and some internet research will offer enough detail for me to begin a miner build and make it profitable? What if I manage to do a build but switch it on and it doest work...where would I get assistance in this case?.... so many questions like this are unanswered for me. Any feedback welcomed.
asic miners need a duct in and a duct out in summer but brillent in winter as you redirect the vent to living areas

@@andrewjenery1783 done them got one still them worked on gpu mining after updating my self. I do believe you be better off with them instead of a real asic because of the simplicity of setting them up but you need to research it.

We are so lucky in the UK, my home runs on 240V std with a maximum draw of 32A (7.6kW) so a safe 80% draw of 6.14kW of power baby😁 (in theory)
Wow only 32A how do you run your clothes dryer or A/C while using the oven? in canada i have 240v 100A, my last house had 200A
@@ryanb7476 its funny you say that, my fuse box actually supports 2 circuits of 80A, but that is split between everything. I'd never be able to use all that unfortunately. So not far off your 200A buddy. I just about have enough power for my laptop

@@ryanb7476 the main feed is split into 2 main ring circuits(upstairs and downstairs), each ring is a maximum of 80A. The plug circuit supports upto 32A, the rest are split between lights, cooker and so forth. Is that clear enough?

Im sure you've checked this, but are the fans both facing the same way, i've had issues with heat when both the fans were facing and both drawing air into the unit and those miners were supplied direct by bitmain.
One needs to blow threw the miner and the other needs to suck it out that’s what all mine do
I'm about to upgrade my rig, currently only using 1k watts roughly. I'm about to do use the 240V 30A circuit. I found extension cord to bring it to where I need it. But I was wondering about those power strips... do you have a link? Idk if need to convert 240 to 120 or do these PSU can do 240V....

Red Panda - I have a Antminer DR5 that mines Blake256R14, which mining pool is the best in terms of profit fees and also, I tried a few sites, but cannot connect to Nicehash and some other pools because the port is not working that they have. It works in Poolin, no issues the other refuses to connect to the stratum url with that port.
ASIC are probably for mining farm... it is sooooo noisy!

Why you muricans have 120V? Here in EU all the homes have 240V coming from the wall in all plugs and having 3-phase power is no big deal.

Great videos. Tips: ASICs require more than plug in and go. There is quite a bit of tuning per coin and rig. You need to experiment with pool vs. solo. Also you have to consider and experiment mining one coin vs. multiple coins. And the frequency and fan speed controls need to be adjusted to hit optimum power and temperature to maximize your electric usage and also maximum hash rate. No one coin, pool, solo, rig, and tune is ever the same. You have to tweak them to get the fasted break even and long term ROI. Figuring all this out can put you a place of dominance on a pooled coin and/or solo coin and win luck bonus rewards. I literally own a pool at 100% and 100% rewards and the occasional bonus on new found blocks. I have literately bullied everyone out at this time. That's the term 'Coin Warz' really means to me. Less rigs, less space, less energy, less management, and maximized profit; and go surf-fishing, get paid. Keep up the excellent work! Huge fan!
