Pat, just found this a few weeks ago, so two years later and still making an impact. Assembled as a gift for a coworker who is an avid Firefly fan. Appreciate you and chinbeard for putting design out there. Thanks.

I know this was from years ago, but do you still have the stl for the split stock? The full one doesn't fit on my bed either.

You get it finished? What’s your polished look like?

I did finish it! Here's the final result: www.urbanexile.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/IMG_E3729-scaled.jpg. I also made a video about it: ua-cam.com/video/VkYITC0GIdo/v-deo.html

Pat I'm new to 3D printing very new and completely out of my element can you help me? First as much as I have searched the net you are the only one almost talking to me at my level lol. But, you will need to dumb it down just one or two more notches more. I want to learn this so bad but can't seem to get a handle on it would you show more of a detailed how to version on everything about setting up the details on your 3D printer? You did go through it kind of fast for me anyway. And I'd really like more details on how to do layers like you did with your gun toy. Thank you so much and looking forward to seeing your responses and help I will continue to watch your channel with hope. Bob

Hi Bob, welcome to 3D printing! The best thing you can do is just start printing and see what your printer can do. Sure, you'll have some prints that fail (I certainly did, and still do!), but you can use those as learning experiences.
If you don't have a 3D printer yet, create a free account on Shapeways and upload models you create. You can use their free online tools to see possible problems with your print. Shapeways is also a good reference for learning technical requirements for different material types.
Good luck and thanks for the topic suggestions!

About complete with the print. Everything is turning out great so far. Question, What size did you cut the 3/16 rod too? and do you have a link to the spring?

I forget exactly, so you should measure it yourself to make sure you get the right sizes. But I think I used 20mm for the spring/trigger connections, 18mm for the grips, and 14 or 15mm for the barrel. Glad to hear it's working so far!
