Keep it up bro! Never stop making this! I love lighting technology!

Those would be perfect for my vintage night lights. No risk of heat-discoloration on their plastic shades. Gonna see if Home Depot has them!

I will admit, it’s kind of amazing how they’ve miniaturized the circuitry so much that it can all fit in the tiny little candelabra base. Even the GE version didn’t do that. 30 lumens does seem quite lacking for a 7-watt replacement though. I think an incandescent version would be 45 lumens.

Just imagine if you find yourself a mercury vapor LED replacement ball but instead of having it just a can of LEDs stick to one socket. It’s an entire old mercury vapor bulb glass dome, but instead of an art tube it’s an entire cob of LEDs.

Hi Parrot! I am using the ceramic white Great Value 3/4 watt ones. Last forever (have a couple in use for at least 3 years now, 24/7 and still bright as new, and look much like vintage ceramic coated 7C7’s lit. They have a teeny bit of flicker like these Feit ones, but are not an issue. I THINK these are COB, but can’t see inside. They are glass. They are actually really good bulbs and the 2700K color temp is nuts-on and has good CRI. I do have a couple packs of the 4 watt equivalent GE filament LED clears but haven’t put them in use yet. Got them at Big Lots, but a bit pricey at 6 bucks a 2 pack. The Great Values are about 5 a 4 pack. I really like them.

It would be interesting to see what happens when you connect a linear fluorescent fixture to the variac. You could compare electronic vs magnetic ballasts to see how dim you could get a f40t12/f3/t8 to go and it would probably make a pretty decent video

I have a couple of onix lamps I like to be dim, I got a few bulbs similar to this, with LED filament but unfortunately they are way too bright. Since I personally know the artisan that made the lamps I gave the bulbs to him and he was quite surprised by how bright they are. He liked them and I hope they at least help him sell a few more lamps, I think he is talented in his craft.

So how does the light feel, when it comes right out of the package? Well, it feels incredibly LIGHT ! 😮

  • @chrisstorm7704

I was really hoping to see the GE and Feit run side by side in order to compare the color temperature of the two. GE conveniently put no color temperature number on their packaging, but I’m guessing something like 3500k.
