    The final result is great and I love the creative solution of the panels in the back to help hold out the skirt. I’m sorry your first version was a bust, that was a such an unusual patten diagram!

    Many other historical costumers on YT attach a bum roll underneath the back waist of the eliptical hooped skirts.

    More than anything if I find someone willing to dress up I’d like to create a big ballgown costume with lots of swoosh and spin:

    So yes more fantasy and not historically accurate, but perhaps if I add a smaller cage under the many layers then the shape and movement would be incredible.❤

    My god, that is one chonky bumroll. Maybe the chonkiest I've seen. You could quilt it just a bit, and while it might require quite a bit of force and a longer needle, it will take away some of that volume
