The final result is great and I love the creative solution of the panels in the back to help hold out the skirt. I’m sorry your first version was a bust, that was a such an unusual patten diagram!
Ciao complimenti ❤️ ma vorrei chiederti quanto sviluppa di circonferenza all' orlo ? e quanto sono lunghi i pannelli: centro davanti, fianco e centro dietro?
More than anything if I find someone willing to dress up I’d like to create a big ballgown costume with lots of swoosh and spin: ua-cam.com/video/9k2RslwdeJM/v-deo.html So yes more fantasy and not historically accurate, but perhaps if I add a smaller cage under the many layers then the shape and movement would be incredible.❤
My god, that is one chonky bumroll. Maybe the chonkiest I've seen. You could quilt it just a bit, and while it might require quite a bit of force and a longer needle, it will take away some of that volume

Many other historical costumers on YT attach a bum roll underneath the back waist of the eliptical hooped skirts.
I've definitely had to come up with a creative solution because I didn't read the instructions 😅 Loved this video!

Just add a bustle pad
