I WAS THERE!!! This was THE CLOSEST show to seeing them in New York City clubs in the early days! UNBELIEVABLE ENERGY! The Revenge album was out, and they were out for their "pound of flesh"! This was an industry event for new, up and coming HEAVY MUSIC Bands, and KISS received a Lifetime Achievement Award. I can't say enough about this show. This video brought me right back to that ENERGY FILLED NIGHT OF KISS ROCK-N-ROLL! Thanks, man! God bless and take care...
@dr.darkroom Hi "Doc" LOL! Eric is a drummers drummer... This guy is comfortable playing anything from Gene Krupa jazz stuff to Alice Cooper stuff! (Who he played for before he played with KISS) I actually got to know both Eric and Bruce pretty well, when my band opened for both of their bands several times! Once when they had a band together even! It's too bad that KISS became a "TV Soap Opra" with all of the bickering and name calling... Anyway, thanks for the reply man! Long live ROCK-N-ROLL! God bless and take care...
WOW, this is the most clear recording of Gene playing bass I've ever heard. It is all in the left speaker of my headphones, really, really cool hear him playing in this recording.
Must have been one of the best small concerts Kiss did. Pauls voice is just past it's best year but he's singing amazingly here. Just shows how Kiss stripped back of all the tricks, bells and whistles is still a incredibly powerful live band
in some shows of the revenge tour (1992) they played she, and in only 2 shows forever on amplified guitar instead of acoustic (I think it was in Japan 1992)
I love Ace Frehley as much as anyone, but Bruce steals the show here. He did each time I saw this era live too, he just rips through these songs with passion. Ace has a great, great sound but man I love Bruce's versions
I knew i had to find this gig after seeing a clip of it on Bruce's 30th anniversary of alive 3 video n he says ye got to play songs live which he never got to play live before. I love the original line up and i also love eric carr, but this line up is so amazing. Thanks for uploading!!
Seems they had finally found their ‘identity’ outside of the makeup. Unpopular opinion, but I think it’s a shame they put the makeup back on, and kept it on after Ace and Peter were gone. They changed course right when they were really getting the whole ‘unmasked’ thing down, and that’s a real bummer to me
Hey guys, we (La Salle) were on that bill and you did a video for us. I've been trying to get hold of it for decades. I dont suppose you still have it?
@@JPL1311 no worries, did you ever have it or am I confusing you with someone else? This was part of the video if it rings any bells ua-cam.com/video/H2RycFEH2yU/v-deo.htmlsi=1itppIeErKzxgEaw
No, he hasn't. He became a member after Eric Carr died in 1991. He was Paul's drummer on his solo club tour, that's it. I saw Eric Carr's last show before his death on the last show of the Hot in the shade tour at MSG in NYC, November 1990.
This is awesome footage. High quality and sounds great. Was this filmed by MTV? They seemed to report from this Forum every single year, huh? Let's not forget Kiss was in big decline that year. Despite Alive III being released, the band was unable to tour to promote the record due to lack of demand/interest. This version of the band was playing at a high level but hardly anybody in the music world cared and the lack of radio/sales/promotion impacted Kiss negatively.
Unable to tour? They were on a national tour and just played Miami Arena on 10/31/92, and this show is just 5 months later. What are you talking about that couldn’t tour? FAKE NEWS!
I wish they played these songs today. I know they’re a lot older now but as much as I love them to this day, they’re just going through the motions. Here they seem really into what they’re playing & they’re having fun. Not today. It’s so obvious. I’d be willing to bet Tommy & Eric would love to playing these songs instead of the stale setlist they’re playing today. Just my two cents 🙄
I think at this point they thought it would be done and the pandemic interfered with their plans. I wish they changed up the setlist a lot more and played some deeper cuts for the fans
1992 was their last USA arena tour that was plagued with attendance problems, they spent the next few years 1993-1995 doing special events like this, it wasn't until 1996 when the original line-up Reunited, that KISS returned to the larger venue hockey rinks in the USA.
It depended on the area I saw them in NY metro area and PA where the shows were pretty close to if not sold out. This is when the 80's Metal started losing out to the Grunge movement. It wasn't just KISS

Unless this got edited off the video, I didn't like them only playing the start of Take Me and not playing the whole song. Stuff like that leaves me feeling disappointed. I remember Ace did that with Ozone on one of his solo shows in 2015
Carr was gone sadly... But the revenge era + the unplugged concert was awesome. Unfortunatly , for me , the reunion era came too fast. At least they should have stop make up after 1998...

Glad you enjoyed it! Saw KISS three times in small clubs and they were all amazing experiences!
Pretty cool because they were pretty much a new band at this point with Eric doing the club shows. Best era ever!

depending on the lineup..
I don't think his voice started deteriorating before the early 2000's.
Ich denke, Pauls Stimme ist immer noch sehr kraftvoll. Erst nach dem Sydney-Orchester-Konzert wurde es schlechter.
I've had this show on VHS since 1995/96. It is a great show and great songs.
yea, the VHS tape trading network has had this full concert for a long time, mid 90s.
Do you have a version without Take Me being cutoff?
HOLY SHIT BRUCE IS ON FUCKING FIRE FOR THIS SHOW !!!! You can tell he's been WANTING to play the classic songs. Holy fuck.
It's the first time I see Bruce's guitar version of "She", "Let me go rock n roll", "Got to choose"...Thank you very much. ...best regards from Perú

Bruce was a very underrated member of KISS
The Revenge “ rehearsal tour” was amazing had the privilege of being at center stage amazing experience
The Tevenge Era shows were
the best the band sounded
I saw the show in SF! Amazing night!
For all those people that say Kiss are just bombs and pyro, they need to watch this.
They sounded amazing with this line up reinvigorated for sure!
Thanks for This ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 1:38

Got to see them back to back nights on the Revenge tour. Tightest the band has ever been since ALIVE!
Definitely a short but great live era!
Great concert. Thanks for sharing.

Wish I could see them like this again: no pyro, no makeup, just the songs, loud and IN YOUR FACE!
And Paul's voice was in prime shape! They definitely had attitude and no nonsense approach back then!

Why do they sound like the old days here ? Friggin awesome

Passion in Eric's playing back then
