Suisei always resisted her mother's attempts to get her to speak English, at least until she joined Holo. Now she's better at it, after a rough start.
@@insertname8811 It's unusual in that her vocabulary and grammar are at a beginner level; or they were not so long ago. Yet even when her language skill overall was low, her pronunciation was perfect. So that's sort of unusual.

Puns aside, it always fascinates me how she can read and pronounce so much English without a lick of comprehension. I wonder if she learned by idle absorption as a child by being near Hahamachi.
You can tell someone is genuinely trying their absolute hardest to learn something when they take any excuse to practice it. Case and point: This clip. Suisei is obviously trying not to disrupt flow, but also _really_ wants to take every opportunity she can to improve even a little bit. That's why she's quietly reading to herself out loud - because she wants to improve her pronunciation. She probably didn't even think she was being loud enough for the mic to pick up, let alone viewers to hear.
