I only found Jananie's channel today and I know im going to love it.
THE POET X was incredible and it hit me hard.
WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI was one of my favorite books of 2018 for sure.
I need to pick up BLACK ENOUGH asap!
A VERY LARGE EXPANSE OF SEA was so enticing but I left it to the side and never finished it idk why...
AMERICAN PANDA is also on my TBR, im going to be reading it for a Asian readathon in May!

The Poet X was amazing and honestly, anything Elizabeth Acevedo writes is gold! When Dimple Met Rishi was hilarious!! Yay Jananie! :D And the 'e' in Kekla's name is short instead of long, so it would be pronounced KECK-luh.

Everyheart a door way (the wayward children series) is also wonderful! It has a lot of LGBT rep as well as a lot of cultural rep. It is also fantasy so the cultural differences aren't always the main idea but it also is always the main idea at the same time.

@@thisstoryaintover it's an absolutely wonderful series. When the first book came out in January me and my librarian fought over who is going to read it first. Seana Seanan McGuire is so good and the whole book series so good. the world building is amazing. if anyone ever asked me what book to read the first thing I recommend is every heard of doorway. 12 out of 10 not only would read again I've read it four times.

For me it’s interesting that literature tend to not be diverse. I’m surrounded for black woman(family reasons), and a lot of trans people(friends reason), so my protagonists tend to be black woman, and trans people tend to show up a lot too, but the themes never are the identity of the characters, the characters are only this, characters.

I don't know about the rest of the books but 'A very large expanse of sea' does NOT represent a Muslim girl. it's all about an all American girl who's about 98% American and 2% Iranian.
