This brings back so many happy memories. Jungle River will always be my favourite water slide, first slide I ever went on where there was no queue and if you wanted to give up halfway through the slide and have a jacuzzi for 5 then you could. I've been on it when the water jets stopped because of a lightning strike and once when it started snowing heavily which was very surreal and memorable.
The best part about CentreParcs was for a kid it was like getting a first taste of freedom and responsibility. At the start of the day I had my bike with my own lock and key, a key to the chalet and my money for the day all in my rucksack.

Great video. We used to go every Feb from around 90' onwards and this really brings back those memories. The zip line, the shop Treatz, the arcades along the bowling. I know it looks so different now but as a kid this was all so magical. I learnt to swim in the big pool before the waves came on haha. I lost my dad in my early 20's so stuff like this really helps take me back to when I was most happiest. I am expecting a son of my own this year and hope to recreate some of these memories as a father in the coming years. Thanks again for sharing this

Sorry memories. I wish I had videos of when I used to go especially the old playground. I have such wonderful memories of the little playground over the lake where you had to pull the little raft across to get from one side to the other

Just come back from Sherwood today after a Monday - Friday break. Watched this video last night in the villa in front of our log fire. We first went in the Jan after this video was taken and just to say thanks so much for posting. We have been going annually since then and was describing to friends what the old villas looked like on Wednesday night. Amazing to actually see them again. And the golf course at the entrance!! Completely forgot about that.
The Beach and sparseness of the forest really surprised me. Amazing how your memory adapts gradually. Can't remember it being so sparce!

They've slightly ruined the Village Square in my opinion. It was nice when they had their own cafes and restauarants, not they've got the same chains that you find in every town. I know hardly anyone used to go to the church but I still think it's a shame they've turned it into a cafe. Our favourite place for cycling, the wood near the Country Club, has been turned into little mansions where people can park their cars outside, which is in violation of the original idea of the park to have no cars outside the car park, and the golf driving range has been turned into another housing estate. I liked it when everyone had to stay in the same small chalets - it gave a feeling of commonality to the place, everyone in the same boat, etc. Nice to see they haven't changed the swimming area yet. I never knew it was based on the swimming park at another Center Parcs in Holland which opened one year earlier in 1986. I thought Sherwood's swimming area was an original design. I have a lot of fond memories of visiting Sherwood in the 1990s and the late 1980s. Still go there even though it isn't quite the same and the atmosphere isn't quite as nice and relaxed as it used to be. Of course a lot of people these days behave in a rowdy and boisterous way which was very unusual in the 80/90s, but that's nothing to do with Center Parcs itself, it's the same everywhere. We used to take a video camera in the 1990s and film everything, including in the swimming area. Now people are suspicious if you start filming, and people are fed up with phones being used to film things. They used to be fascinated by the sight of a video camera at one time.

Great memories. My parents took me there for the first time around 1988. Mum and I are due to return (first time since 1996) in May if Coronavirus doesn't stop us.

Fantastic video, I visited most years from when it opened as an 8 year old until my early teens, I’m 40 next year and have been taking my son each year for his birthday, have to say I feel a little sad as it’s become diluted and has brands there now as restaurants and as another comment mentions drive up ‘ extra special ‘ villas. Great memories seeing this thanks for the upload!

This park opened on 3rd July 1987 so it was less than a year old at the time of this film.

It makes me feel young to watch this video, not old. I remember being there in 1988 and 1989.
