these guys are on something else. this is better than scientology (you get actual good audio listening experience here!). i now know what i'm gonna do once i get that electrical engineering degree.
The Giya G1S has long been my reference dynamic speaker - completely amazing. I do wish they went a BIT lower on the low end - the -2 dB point is 29 Hz - but otherwise they are simply wonderful.
With room coupling they plan lower + most companies -xDB point if reported at all is commonly -3+DB. Also, with Vivids and room coupling they will commonly play much lower. For example, mine measure down into the mid - 20s.
@@VideoArchiveGuy I've heard all the Wilson and Rockport except the Chronosonic and none of them play down to 20Hz w/o room loading except the Arrakis which my friend has. Also, I woudn't put Wilsons in the same league as Vivids except again for the largest Chronosonics and maybe the XLF.
@@MuzikSonics The Alexx V IMHO is very good as is the Alexia Series 2. The Alexx V is quoted as +/- 3 dB 20 Hz - 32 kHz. Still, IMHO neither has the magic that the G1S or G2 have, and the Alexx V is significantly more expensive than the G1S.
Astonishing speakers indeed Just magnificent marvels i have just a doubt I love the shape of the woofers diaphragms that are concave and a portion of a sphere Why not to scale down that kind of diaphragms for the other drivers I like when there is a kind of form coherence among the drivers Thanks a lot and kind regards gino
Seems like Laurence was going to use the Mcintosh setup but went with the exact same setup (Halcro, Mola Mola, Grimm) as you had in your "Live Test - Analog VS Digital" video. Did he switch between the Mcintosh and the Halcro? Any difference if he did? Will be disappointed if you didn't play Paradise Circus to see how big of an improvement there was over the Kaya 45's.
The McIntosh wasn't his. It was left there by the store where the presentation was held. The importer of Vivid also has Halcro and Grimm. That combines VERY well with Vivid... Unfortunately I wasn't in the position to do request tracks ;-)... but hey... we will review the G2's anyway.
@@AF-rd2vf Efficiency is lower, placement is more critical due to bi-polar design and you need a serious surface for decent low-end. But all designs have some pro's and con's. It's just how you handle them...

I love Laurence's presentation!
I love my Giya G2S2s, most realistic sounding speaker I heard in its price and above.

True, but for $90K most would hope for true 20-20K; certainly that’s the case for competitors like Rockport or Wilson Audio.

Ow... Dat is idd waar! Ik pas het direct aan!
We will need speakers in space!
Of course! :-)
Open baffle speakers don’t have resonance issues to begin with.😉
True. But they have other issues.

8:50 two woofers opposite to each other, arent they cancelling each other in sound i mean phase?? look at his hands.
No. They fire the other way. It is anti resonance in a mechanical way.
