#HowToSingBetter #FreyaCasey #SingingTips
I am now 80 yrs. old and still learning to sing. The body is old but my voice is still young. Never believed I could learn to sing at the age of 80. A dream come true. Thanks Freya!
Happy for youu
r u still alive?
@@sugarbae1062 that’s just rude
@@sugarbae1062 LMAOO
Reading this makes me so happy, I'm in my forties and trying to keep good health of my voice... when or did you ever started to feel changes in it? I intend to keep on singing till the day I die. Always learning. You're a beacon of encouragement with that comment.
Why do I always wanna do this at 2 a.m.
RIGHT LOL
Me ToO
4 am lol
... 4am is not much better lemme tell you >.>
SAME it’s 3 am rn😭
So incredibly helpful Freya. I'm learning so much and I'm 77 yrs. young!
Wow that is very very very Cool!!!
It's never late too learn my friend! Good luck
YES! Age is just a number, my friend..SING ON!
This is the best comment
Me 2 I'm 65 jjj
When she went loud with that high note I swear I LOST IT SHES SO GOOD
Ophiuchus. It WILL come, just be patient and get enough practice in. Every singer goes through a stage when they think they won't "get there". Always keep your face and jaw as relaxed as possible.
SHE’s so great
Can't really scream in my house, have neighbours
😂
Do in the car🙄
forget em! you gotta live! :P
do it in your car
Thien Tran Right! My mom would throw me out of the house saying I’m contributing to the existing noise pollution!!!
My music teacher told me to open up my voice but she never said how. She just got mad and yelled at me
Then you have a bad teacher. Try looking for another one
EXACTLY
🤣🤣
really u should have a better teacher
Same
I love that you actually demonstrate these exercises.
+VIDEOHEREBOB I love that I see you at every single comment section of every single voice video I watch and TMV thread I read, Bob. Especially because I almost always agree with what you say.
VIDEOHEREBOB
You know I'm not Freya right? lol But that's cool, Bob.
+buhreebs Oh Boy! LOL
When I first started practicing with an open throat, my throat got sore because I was not relaxing. But today, I finally relaxed my throat enough that it felt wonderful. One thing I did not realize is that when your throat relaxes you can actually feel it relax. It feels comfortable. Thank you so much. You are a wonderful teacher.
I wish i had my own underground bunker for signing. Sorry I mean yelling 😂
Armyy....same lmao
Armyyy , 💜 i am here because I want to sing that high note by jimin in let me know 🤧
LMAO SAME
4:04 This must be what it sounded like during the air-raids in WW2
I wish this lady was my voice teacher. Well, I guess she is if she's helping me :)
Yooo ok so i was singing some karaoke and everytime i sing ballads like hopelessly devoted for example, and everytime i wanna sing the chorus, i sound so closed up and theres SO MUCH tension in my throat. Then i remembered that on some youtube videos that i watched they always say to open the throat so i tried to and OH MY GOODNESS I COULD SING THE CHORUS SO GOOD AND I HAD THAT OPEN SOUND AND THE RINGING SHES TALKING ABOUT IM SO PLEASED WITH MY SELF
how
how???
i cant do anything
i still sing like a dead fish.
ACe__ DwR stop just try babies
Me too bro
Haha very funny
Same , my throat is so so closed
Ha ha this kid is funny
This was extremely helpful, thank you!! I think I’ve bee singing with a closed throat this entire time. I believe a lot of that is from lack of confidence and singing with a closed throat sort of keeps you in that safe zone, if that makes sense. I’m really going to work on this!!
You have no idea how much this has helped thank you so much. This was a big part that I was missing in my singing.
Low larynx made you sound like Christina Aguilera. She does that to get her signature sound that you either love or hate
Avocados Are Cool ikr
Noticed that all the background noise faded when she does the 'ya' thinh. Thanks for the help 😁
how does she transition from head voice to louder??? i get stuck
U might be singing in falsetto, not in head voice
use middle voice it's between head and and chest
Alligator analogy and train example really helped as well. Thank you :)
My neighbours thought I'm dying
😂😂
😂😂😂
Singing with an open throat is best, but you're doing it wrong. Drop your jaw, then inhale with an abdominal breath, then exhale using the abdominal muscles, then immediately after you feel air move through your throat, make the sound (whatever note you want to hit). That's how opera singers sing and it's the most healthy way to sing. It's how women can be louder than an entire orchestra and go on for an hour with their throats being just fine. Your throat should never hurt after singing and your voice should never sound raspy after singing no matter how loud or how long.
Even the Army teaches this by instructing soldiers in march to let a breath out and connect it with notes otherwise, you'll hurt yourself.
I fail see how she is not doing what you are saying.
Can you please explain the "after you feel air move through your throat" thing? Didnt get that one.
oh god bless you
@@Masterdoctorgenius14 - It’s called an “onset” and there are different types.
Hey u should make a vid on this
Wow, I've learned so much in these few minutes.
I did this a few times and all my neighbor's goats thought I'm their long lost cousin.
use middle voice. it's between head and chest voice
Thank you I needed a tutorial for this so much! Hope it'll help 🙏

You're one of the best Vocal Teacher. My Fav!! Thnx Freya
My throat is open when im in chest voice but is closed when I go into head voice, how can I fix that?
+mylifeasTRASH Change the vowels to Eh or EE.
+issa ismail I have the same problem when I'm singing with mix. If I sing Ee the sound is clear and loud and quite awesome. My larynx is pretty relaxed too. But when I sing uu or aa my voice is weak and sounds stupid and my larynx is in higher position than when I'm singing ee. Why? Why it has always felt (in mixed voice) like there's something on the way? I can't sing great in mix because the sound is weak and it doesn't come out like I think/feel it should in my head. Could someone help me please?
have u tried tonque trills on the uhh sound? Cause a lot of times I feel like I'm relaxed under my chin but I'm not.
Wonderful advice! 😃 Your voice is beautiful! Thank you so much! ⭐️

Thank you soooo much, Freya. You are a wonderful teacher. I learned a lots! Have you had an episode to teach how to prepare to start the first note on stage? I did not find the lesson. My problem is that I always mess up the start of song on stage. I don’t know how to prepare my body in details.
