Ran a couple loop trails with sets like this this season. Love your tips and modifications. It pays to learn from another guys experience and hard work! Will be copying you on the line next season!
going to set a few of these this year. I didn't have time to make up many boxes, so this is gonna have to do for this year. Thanks for sharing the set Dave!!
Be sure to check local regulations on placing nails in trees, here in New York in the Adirondacks it is illegal to place nail in trees on public lands.
If you are using them for marten you need to check on your provincial regulations. Most places the 110 is not legal for marten. If you are using them for rats then the regular spring is fine if they are going into the water. But I don't know about adding or replacing it with a 220 spring but maybe a 160?
+Trapping World really there for mink and these that I play with each year are pretty big and fat from being on a fish and crawfish farm. I got one this season that was 33" and I have tons of 110# but they just went strong enuff for them

in handy.
Hello what does marten eats
Where do you find those big nails for a good price? Here they are fairly dear.
holdengr At out building suppliers they are usually the same price as smaller nail, sold by the pound.
Just wondering where you got those bait cages?
Captain_Shot72 I make them from the 1 inch square screen that we all use for muskrat submarine (or colony) traps.
do u think it would be wise to replace my 110 traps with 1 220 spring?

+evan langlinais and to replace 230 110# with 160# would probly cost tomuch
No I meant just add a 160 spring to the 110. Or just add another 110 spring. 120's are plenty good for mink.
+Trapping World thanks for the advice I'll give it a try. but I did make 2 to see if it works. it snapes so hard and completely close so not to safe
Lots of work to do just to set a 120 lol I do it way easy and faster
Nice set.thanks for sharing
